I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.
This was another busy week for me. I really hope things calm down very soon because I like quiet time a lot more than running around all of the time. Work has been very busy and I am still catching up from the few days that I took off a couple of weeks ago.
The puppy is feeling much better this week but my senior dog had to get her teeth worked on at the vet on Friday which was very stressful since it meant going under anesthesia and being gone for the day.
My daughter is extremely busy. She is going to play her trombone trio at the state level tomorrow which is pretty exciting. She got invited to go to prom with a senior last week so I know that we will spend some time this week getting ready for that. She also has a band concert this week as well as other end of the school year craziness.
The Girl I Used to Be by April Henry (NetGalley)
Blood Defense by Marcia Clark (Kindle First)
The Journey by Isobelle Carmody (Audible Freebie)
I have been trying to stop myself from requesting any books until I get caught up but I couldn’t resist The Girl I Used to Be when I saw it listed as a “Read Now” title. I always pick one of the Kindle First books but none of the choice really popped out at me this time. I thought that Blood Defense looks somewhat promising so I decided to go with that choice. I love it when I am able to grab freebies on Audible so I didn’t hesitate to add The Journey to my library. I think it will be a great listen during my work day once things calm down there a bit.
What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!
OOoh nice! Those are new to me ones!! Hope you love them all!
My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!
Have a GREAT day!

Hope things calm down for you!! Exciting stuff for your daughter though! Enjoy your new books!
That's a nice haul, Carole, and not too big and daunting, either š I hope the quiet times will arrive soon, so that you have more time for 'you' stuff, not just the stuff you have to do.
Have a wonderful weekend and happy reading.

Aj @ Read All The Things!
Good to hear that the puppy is better! Sounds like you are going to be having a busy time of it. Hope you can fit in some reading and relaxing time!
Wow, what an eventful time for you and your daughter! I have Freshman daughter and I feel like carting her around for her social life is all we do! She is too young to drive. The Girl I Used To Be does look very good. I have seen several other people get it from NetGalley this week. Have fun reading all your books. I also just became a follower via GFC.
Exciting upcoming events for your daughter and I'm glad your puppy is well! Hope you get time to take a breather for yourself soon š
I hope you enjoy your books! Life is hectic for me right now as well. Hopefully things will even out for us soon. Happy Saturday!
The Girl I Used to Be sounds great!! Happy reading!

Hope life does slow down for you a bit.
I like the looks of a couple of your picks. Enjoy!
Nothing wrong with grabbing "Read Now" titles! I haven't heard of any of these. I hope you enjoy all of your new books!
Thanks for visiting my blog! Have a fantastic weekend (and hopefully smoother week), Carole. =)

Have a great weekend and enjoy your books
Great haul, Carole! I don't think I've heard of any of these but I hope you love them! Glad to hear your pups doing better š

I got the Marcia Clarke book as well. I am interested to see how she translates to fiction. When I try to write anything, it sounds too much like a legal document. LOL Happy reading!
Bambi's STS and Recap
I didn't think the Kindle selections in April jumped out at me either. I snagged one of the other ones but am now interested in the Marcia Clarke one since I have seen several people mentioning it. I know what you mean with a few busy weeks so here's hoping it slows down for both of us.
Aww, poor pup. That's never fun. Yay for your daughter, though. How exciting!
