Stacking the Shelves #22

Posted May 28, 2016 by Carole in Stacking the Shelves / 18 Comments

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews

I had great hopes that things would slow down this week but it proved to be pretty busy after all.  My daughter finished her freshman year last week but it turns out we weren’t quite done after all.  She was honored at a board meeting on Tuesday night and had to play at the graduation ceremony on Thursday.  It was my turn to take her to trombone lessons on Wednesday so my week had very few moments of free time.  I couldn’t seem to get myself in the mood to spend any time online in the time that I had but I did squeeze a book into the week.  I am really looking forward to this three day weekend….I need it!

Print Books
Controlled Burn by Shannon Stacey (Paperback Swap)

I have liked every Shannon Stacey novel that I have read so far so I put a few of her books on my Paperback Swap wishlist.  I was really excited for this one to become available so quickly.

Audiobooks
Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone (Audiobook Sync)
Egg & Spoon by Gregory Macguire (Audiobook Sync)
A Fierce and Subtle Poison by Samanth Mabry (Won @ LibraryThing)

I picked up two awesome freebies from Audiobook Sync this week.  I also received A Fierce and Subtle Poison that I won over at LibraryThing in April.  I am so happy to get my hands on this one.  I had started to wonder if I should even continue to enter the contests on LibraryThing since the last three books that I have won have never made it to my house.  This win gives me a bit of hope that I might see the other books someday.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  3. I still need to read Every Last Word. I really liked Stone's Time book, but I keep forgetting to pick this one up. I hope you enjoy it. 🙂

  4. I'd like to hear more about Egg and Spoon. I've always considered picking it up. I remember my band days. I really enjoyed playing the trumpet but probably couldn't even play a scale now. Enjoy your 3 days.

  5. Maybe you will get that rest for the holiday weekend and next week. 🙂

I need to give the audio sync a go sometime, but each time I think of it, I've already got a few review books to deal with first. 😉

  6. I loved Every Last Word! It was my first Stone book and I was so impressed. The Shannon Stacey book looks really good, something I might enjoy. 😉 I hope you enjoy all of your new books, Carole!

Thanks for visiting my blog! Have a fabulous week. =)

  7. Those look like some fun books! I love audio books, so I will look those ones up. I need to listen to something other than music during my commute. Music is fine, too. But I like variety.
