I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.
I am having such a hard time getting my head back into blogging and reading. I did find some time to finish the book that I had started on June 1. I still can’t believe that I spent 9 days reading a short little book. I also made myself finish the audiobook that I had going. I wasn’t enjoying it so that probably didn’t help. My library’s summer reading club has started so maybe that will help motivate me.
Print Books
The Crooked Heart of Mercy by Billie Livigston (Won on LibraryThing)
I won this book back in February and had really given up on receiving it at this point. I was really pretty happy to get this kind of surprise in the middle of the week. I have a little bit of hope that the other two books that I won at LibraryThing might actually show up someday but I really kind of doubt that I will ever see the book that I won back in January.
Audiobooks
I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson (Audiobook Sync)
Zac and Mia by A.J. Betts (Audiobook Sync)
Zac and Mia by A.J. Betts (Audiobook Sync)
I picked up two awesome freebies from Audiobook Sync this week. I am pretty excited about this pair of audiobooks even though I am not sure when I might get around to listening to them.
What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

Well with our St. Louis summers which are hot and miserable, being motivated to read is a big factor! Hopefully you'll get your reading groove back!
These are new to me reads!! Hope you enjoy each and every one of them!
My STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by then!
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
I end up spending a lot of my summer inside enjoying the ac. Our puppies have been trying to adjust and causing a bit of chaos though.
Hope you find a way to get back into it with reading and blogging!! I'll Give You the Sun was one I loved – I wonder how the audio will be. Enjoy!
I am trying to take breaks on the days that I just don't feel like it. I am sure that I will get motivated soon. I am looking forward to the audiobook for I'll Give You the Sun.
Yes, hopefully your book club will help you get your reading groove back. That's something how long your prize book took to arrive. I'd have given up hope, too.
Neat that you're finding audio books you like through the audio program.
I really thought that this book was a lost cause. Usually prizes come pretty quickly but not lately with LibraryThing. I did notice that all of the books that I am owed are from the same publisher so that may be the issue.
I hope you get your blogging mojo back. 🙂 I read I’ll Give You The Sun last year and really liked it.
Aj @ Read All The Things!
I am really excited to listen to that one. It can be hard to fit everything into a single day but I am trying to figure it out.
Oh, I grabbed those audio freebies as well but forgot to add them to my STS.
I hope you get out of that reading slump soon! I spent the last 2 weeks on one book but I'm determined to finish it today so I can move on to better books!
Have a great week!
Stacy Renee @ Lazy Day Literature
I love these Audibook freebies! Reading slumps are the worst but they happen from time to time.
There's not much worse than a book prize not turning up-or a reading slump of some kind. I'm trying to drag myself out of a slump right now as I haven't read a book in weeks!
It is so disappointing to think you are getting something but to have it never show up. It seems like a lot of people are going through reading slumps lately. I hope we all snap out of it soon.
I love the look of The Crooked Heart of Mercy! Enjoy all your books…and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
I hope that it turns out to be a good one. Thanks for stopping by!
It's no fun to be kind of un-motivated when it comes to reading and blogging, Carole. Maybe you should take a little break from both and then get your mojo back?
Have a wonderful weekend.

I have been kind of doing the bare minimum and taking days off. I'm starting to come around.
I'll Give You the Sun is such an amazing book! Hopefully that'll get you out of your reading slump! 😀
Enjoy your new books! 🙂

My Book Haul!
I am glad that you enjoyed that one, Kyra! I hope to get to it soonish.
Both Zac and Mia and I'll Give You Everything look really good. And that's awesome that you finally got the LibraryThing book. I think I'd probably give up on the January book too but you never know. Good luck getting motivated. I always find it hard to read when summer first starts. Between school being out and the temperature rising I'm just not feeling books. Luckily I've had two really great ones in a row so that's helping my motivation.
I am really sad about the January book but I have a bit of hope now. I had thought that things would slow down in the summer but I was wrong it seems. These are crazy days.
Reading slumps are rubbish! I hope it gets better for you soon. 🙂
Yes, they are!
I remember liking Zac and Mia a few years ago. Great you got it for free. I'm sure you'll get back in the swing of things soon.
I am looking forward to Zac and Mia. I am kind of surprised by the books in the program this year. They have some great picks!
I've not had an ideal reading week as well. Boo. Let's hope things will improve for us next week. Enjoy your books this week!
I hope your reading improves as well!
I read the hardback version of I'll Give You the Sun, and it was okay. I think there was a lot of hype surrounding it that made me disappointed when I actually got to read the book. Hopefully the audio version is better. 🙂
I have seen a few good reviews but nothing specific. Sometimes it can really be hard for a book to be as good as we expect it to be.
Nine days isn't terrible! Think about your average person, reading two or three books in one year. 😉 I'm not too familiar with any of your new additions! I hope you enjoy all of your new books, Carole.
Thanks for visiting my blog! Have a lovely weekend. =)
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
It feels terrible to me! I usually read about 3 per week so that is much slower than my normal. I have too many review books to read this slowly.
I never used to listen to audiobooks much but now I turn Audible on my phone on my way to and from work and have really been enjoying it 🙂 Great haul! New GFC follower.
Here's what I got!
I go through phases with audiobooks. Some months, I listen constantly but others I hardly listen at all. I love the audible app! Thanks for the follow!
I just got to go to an author event yesterday with Jandy Nelson, so I bought I'll Give You The Sun, and she autographed it. She was so very kind. Have a great week.
How awesome is that?! I love author events and signed books are the best. Sounds like a good time.
Yes LibraryThing can be a bit of a slow spot when you win books from them. But these look like some great reads! Visitors to my blog are always welcome (so are followers!), so,please, if you'd like, stop by and see my StS here.
I received the first couple of books that I won quite quickly and then the next few just never showed up. Oh well. I guess that I really have nothing to complain about.
I've been grabbing all the audiobooks this year. They really have some great ones this year. Hopefully I can start some of them soon.
They have some really great picks this year. I am downloading all of them and storing them in dropbox for later use. Can't beat free 🙂
I haven't read I'll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson but it's on my tbr! Happy reading 🙂
Sofia @ SofiaLovesReading
I hope to get to that one soon. Thanks!
