Stacking the Shelves #41

Posted October 15, 2016 by Carole in Stacking the Shelves / 22 Comments

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews
This was a pretty uneventful week at my house which was a good thing.  I was able to get a some reading done but not quite as much as I would have liked.  Story of my life.  I am finally caught up on my Goodreads challenge after falling behind this summer.  Let’s see how long this lasts 🙂

Digital Books
The Burning Page by Genevieve Cogman (NetGalley)
Never Let You Go by Chevy Stevens (NetGalley)
Size Matters by Alison Bliss (NetGalley)
Breath of Fire by Amanda Bouchet (NetGalley)
One Snowy Night by Jill Shalvis (Edelweiss)
Accidentally on Purpose by Jill Shalvis (Edelweiss)
When a Marquess Loves a Woman by Vivienne Lorret (Publisher)

You might be thinking that I went a little nuts with ARCs this week….and I would have to agree with you.  I did request The Burning Page a while ago and was finally approved.  I had a widget for Never Let You Go that I just couldn’t resist.  Jill Shalvis is always a win so I am thrilled to get a chance to read her work.  Vivienne Lorret has been an author that I wanted to try so I accepted the publisher’s offer of a copy of her newest title.  And I finally got my hands on copy of Breath of Fire…so excited!

Print Books
Love and First Sight by Josh Sundquist (Novl Win – For Review)
Unseen by Karin Slaughter (Purchase)

I love surprise book mail so I was thrilled when Love and First Sight showed up at my house with a note that I had won copy.  I am going to have to keep my eye on this one because I have already noticed my teen daughter acting like she wants to get her hands on it.  Last weekend, my husband and I stopped into the local dollar store and I had to bring home Unseen – it was only $1 so it had to be done 🙂

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  1. This week for me was dinosaurs, urban fantasy and politics! I've got quite excited by these dinosaur horror grabs over the last few weeks and I hope at least a few of them are good! I'm happy to be back enjoying my reading again after the summer slump! Enjoy your books!

  2. Looks like you good a lot of really good ones this week! I love Jill Shalvis, so I can't wait to see what you think about those, especially One Snowy Night because I have been obsessed with Christmas/Winter themed books lately. lol

    • I liked One Snowy Night. It was short but nice. I don't tend to focus on holiday books but I do read a few. Before blogging, I was as likely to read a Christmas story in July as I was December but I am trying to stay more with the seasons now.

    • I set my Goodreads challenge pretty high this year. I just went off of last years numbers but I think I read a lot of novellas last year so it wasn't all that accurate. It looks like I should make it in the end.

  3. Lots of wonderful books this week. I hope you enjoy all of them. It's going to take you a while to read all of them.

  4. Can't beat dollar books! I think I read a Jill Shaves book ages ago and she does have a series or two I'd like to look in to. There is never enough reading time.

  5. Uneventful weeks make the best reading weeks. 🙂

Oh neat you got Breath of Fire. I have the same lack of resistance to clicking on arcs when I'm at NG. Way to go on the win and dollar store find.

I was tickled to catch an error at Amazon so I got an old Lord Peter Wimsey mystery for six cents, but that was my only purchase this week. I also got Someone to Love by Mary Balogh for review.

  6. You go girl! I'm glad you're caught up. I have the first two books in the Cogman series but have not read them yet. I want to binge-read the series. 😀 I hope you enjoy all of your new books!

Thanks for visiting my blog! Have a wonderful weekend. =)
