Stacking the Shelves #68

Posted May 6, 2017 by Carole in Stacking the Shelves / 19 Comments

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews
This was a pretty good week in my world.  My daughter is getting close to the end of the school year so we had a jazz performance to attend on Sunday night and another concert on Wednesday.  It is hard to believe that there are only two and half weeks of school left this year.  After the massive rains last weekend, there was a lot of flooding in the region with major road closures.  I wasn’t anywhere near the flood area but it was a really slow week at work as a result of the road closures.  I am hoping that work picks up next week.

Digital Books

Free Space by Sean Danker (NetGalley)
I Knew You Were Trouble by Lauren Layne (NetGalley)
Run to Ground by Katie Ruggle (NetGalley)
Beasts of Extraordinary Circumstance by Ruth Emmie Lang (NetGalley)

I went crazy widget clicking this week again.  I am looking forward to all of these books.  Beasts of Extraordinary Circumstance sounds particularly interesting.

Print Books

Windfall by Jennifer E. Smith (Blogging for Books)

Blogging for Books has had some great choices lately.  I am planning to read Windfall over the weekend.

Devil in Spring by Lisa Kleypas (Purchased)

I had a $5 Amazon promotional credit that couldn’t be used on ebooks.  When I noticed that Devil in Spring was only $4.97 in paperback, I bought it immediately.  It’s kind of like I got this beautiful book for free isn’t it?  I can’t wait to read this series!

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  1. I do enjoy getting promo credits or gifts cards-guilt free purchases! I'm glad you weren't anywhere near the floods. We're lucky to live on high ground with two big hills close by so flooding hasn't been an issue here except when the drains get blocked with leaves. Any water goes down the hill towards the park before it builds up around our driveway. Have a good weekend!

  2. Ooh nice! Those are some new to me reads! Devil in Spring somehow reminds me of the Selection books! Must be the gorgeous dress! LOL! Happy Reading!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

  3. Blogging For Books did have a lot of really good choices lately. I've seen quite a few positive reviews for Windfall so I hope you enjoy that one. The cover is so pretty! I have an ARC of I Knew You Were Trouble by Lauren Layne too. I really excited to start that one. Hope you have a great weekend!

  4. I need to get my hands on Windfall, I'm dying to read that book.
Great haul, have a lovely weekend.
    Here is my STSĀ

  5. Good that you were able to avoid the flooded areas. We got a ton of rain, but fortunately the low areas are not in my path, either.

I got Free Space and Run to Ground, too. šŸ™‚
    Have a good week, Carole!

  6. I read Windfall and liked it very much! Who wouldn't want to win the lottery, right? I can imagine what an 18 year old might do, and the book explores this in a fun way. I hope you enjoy it.

  7. I hope the roads are opening up again and work picks up for you. My daughter still has a little over a month to go of school. She's sad about having to leave her teacher and classmates.

Your new books look good! Run to Ground caught my attention and Beasts of Extraordinary Circumstance sounds good as well.

I hope you have a great week, Carole! Enjoy your new books!

  8. I hope everything is okay in your region. We've been lucky that we haven't been affected by spring flooding in the last few years.

Enjoy your books and here's to a better week!

  9. Wow, you're so lucky. Kleypas book for only $4.97. So happy for you. I Knew You Were Trouble sounds great! Enjoy these books, Carole. Have a wonderful week. šŸ™‚

  10. Shoot, I missed out on Windfall! I need to remember to check Blogging for Books. First to Read, I have down, but Blogging for Books, not so much. I hope you enjoy all of your new books, Carole!

    Have a fantastic week. =)
