Stacking the Shelves #81

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality
This week was a little busy.  Last Saturday we went to a wedding and had a really nice time.  I spent a lot of time on the dance floor with my husband and we kind of acted like kids.  On Sunday, my daughter’s band played before the Cardinals game.  I was exhausted and behind on everything by the time I went to work on Monday so I have been playing catch up for most of the week.

I didn’t add any review books this week.  I might be able to catch up if I can keep it up for a bit longer..or maybe a lot longer!

Digital Books

The Scribe of Siena by Melodie Winawer (Kindle Purchase)
God-Shaped Hole by Tiffanie DeBartelo (Kindle Purchase)
Tangled in Texas by Kari Lynn Dell (Kindle Purchase)
Wanted & Wired by Vivien Jackson (Kindle Purchase)
Hunted by Rebecca Zanetti (Kindle Purchase)
By Her Touch by Adriana Anders (Kindle Purchase)

I bought a few books that were priced at a huge discount during one of the daily deals.  I always have a credit at Amazon so it was a no brainer.  I have seen some great reviews for most of these so I was glad to grab them when they were on sale.

Print Books

I stopped in my local dollar store to buy a greeting card…so of course I left with a pile of books.  Makes perfect sense doesn’t it?

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  1. It's been a while since I was in any of the charity shops in our town. I just rarely find something that interests me these days! Have a good weekend!

  2. Hope this weekend is a little less crazy for you! And yay for book sales and credits!! Lol! All totally new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!

And oh! I just wanted to mention in case you hadn't heard, since you're one of the few St. Louis bloggers I know that Maria V. Snyder will be coming to Main Street Books in St. Charles on August 26th from 11am-1pm! She's written the Study series, the Glass books, and a YA series Inside Out! She's one of my favorite authors and I am soooo excited that she's finally come to St. Louis for a visit! So just wanted to let you know about that in case you wanted to come! She'll just be signing as far as I know since her last release came out in January!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

    • I am so glad that I always have an amazon credit. I buy books when they are on sale with no guilt.

I haven't had a chance to read Maria V. Snyder yet. I bought a couple of her books when I caught them on sale but still need to fill in the rest of the series and find time to read them. I have been wanting to visit Old St. Charles so I am going to try to work it in. Thanks for letting me know!

  3. You have been busy! I remember singing with a choir before a SF Giants game as a child. It was a very memorable moment. 🙂 I am glad you and your husband had a good time at the wedding! My daughter and I attended my niece's wedding recently and my daughter and several other kids had a lot of fun dancing to the music before the adults got on the floor.

Your new books all look great, Carole. I love the cover of The Scribe of Siena. And Wanted & Wired looks really good.

I hope you have a great weekend, Carole!

    • My daughter's band plays before a game every year. She is a junior this year so she will only get to do it one more time. The wedding that I attended didn't have any kids there at all…which felt strange. Kids usually have a great time at those kind of functions. Thanks!

  4. Ooh, I love the show Gossip Girl but I've never read the books. I want to give the first one a go sometime though. Hope you have a less hectic week ahead of you, so you can relax a bit 🙂 Happy reading!

    Here's my STS!

    • We actually only bought the Gossip Girl Psycho Killer book because we thought it was funny. It has the same cover as the first book by one of the girls is holding a knife and blood is everywhere. I have a strange sense of humor. I am looking forward to a much calmer week!

  5. Sounds like you had a great time at the wedding! We didn't have any weddings to attend this year, which is surprising considering past years. lol! We already have a couple lined up for next year though. Everyone has been telling me that our dollar store has started to get books so I've been wanting to stop down and check it out soon. I hope you love all of your new books, and have a great week!

    • Weddings do seem to come in spurts don't they. I had fun since my husband was willing to dance with me and his sister. I might have gotten some exercise as well 🙂 I seem to leave with a pile of books every time I go to the dollar store. I am so weak!

  6. Still laughing about the dollar store stop. That is so me. Whew, busy weekend for you, but sounds like all to the good. Those do look like some good ones you snagged on sale. I've only read a couple of those, but liked them.

    Have a good week, Carole!

    • I felt like Vaness and Her Sisters needed to go home with me. I don't remember where I first saw the book but I am looking forward to it. It is a large print book so my eyes will appreciate it.

  7. Yea for discount books. Sounds like you have a busy but fun weekend last week. Hopefully you can work in some reading this one.

  8. No review books but you got a lot of books! I admire the whole no-review-books thing though. 😀 I'm curious about the Anders book.

I hope you enjoy all of your new books! Have a wonderful weekend, Carole. =)

    Check out my STS post!

  9. Nice haul. I'm super jealous. I got bupkis this week. Enjoy your new books! XD

  10. Woah, it does sound like you had a busy week! I'm glad to hear the wedding went well though. I love weddings but they always take a lot of energy out of me lol It looks like you added a lot of really great books to your shelves this week. I've always been tempted to read Gossip Girl Psycho Killer, because I used to love Gossip Girl when I was younger but I've never gotten around to it. Happy reading, and I hope you have an amazing week! 🙂

  11. Yay for God-Shaped Hole. I bought it when it was on sale. It's terrifying, to be honest, but I'm SO curious. I hope you enjoy it. Enjoy your other new books too. Have a wonderful week. 🙂

  12. Sounds like a good time at the wedding and how exciting for your daughter to play before the Cardinals game! You got some great books! Vanessa and her Sister have been calling to me. It looks fantastic. Have a great week!

  13. Ahaha I absolutely love how you went in to buy a greeting card and came out with all of those books! That would be so me xD I mean, they're so cheap as well! It's nearly impossible to resist.
