My Life
I feel like my teenage daughter had a busy week and it somehow trickled down to me. She is actually on her spring band trip to Atlanta right now and will be back on Sunday. So we spent a lot of the week making sure that everything was in order before she left on Wednesday night. My husband and I do get a few days with just the two of us in the house but it worked out that my husband is working 12 hour shifts during those days so we didn’t really get to go out and have any fun. Today we are going to try to fit in two different family gatherings so please be patient with me as I work to respond to comments.

I have worked really hard to stay away from NetGalley and focus on catching up some of my old review copies. And then this week happened. Adding four NetGalley books in a single week is not a part of my overall plan. Oh well. I couldn’t resist Foundryside when I got the email from the publisher about it. I requested Aftermath a few weeks ago because it is written by Kelley Armstrong. Lauren Layne is an author that I really like so I didn’t put much thought into grabbing I Think I Love You. I have been considering Blood Type since I first saw it on NetGalley and finally grabbed it this week. I was pretty excited when my copy of The Kiss Quotient showed up from Bookish First this week. I really don’t know a whole lot about Staked, Revamped, and Crossed but all three were on sale of $0.99 each and they sounds like something I would like so I decided to grab those as well.

He works 12 hour shifts all the time but gets a lot of days off. It just worked out that his days to work were the same days we would have liked to do a few things together.

I thought that the Lewis series looked like something I would like. I have my fingers crossed that I was right.

Nice new reads too! I was approved for Aftermath this week too! Of course right when I got a cold and wasn't do any reading practically! Have a feeling this will bring my Netgalley ratio down by the time I read it! Whelp! Lol!

We didn't get too much down time while my daughter was away. Maybe next time she goes on a trip we will get a bit more.
I have been very focused on getting my backlog of books from NetGalley caught up but I guess I had a step back this week.

I feel like my life revolves around work and my daughter's activities. It's always one or the other. Sometimes both. LOL I hope your daughter's band trip went well. It seems like that always happens. You get the house to yourselves and one has to work. I hope you enjoy those family gatherings:) And I've managed to stay away from Netgalley. I won't be accepting or requesting any more books until I catch up on the ones I have. I swear! LOL

We really didn't get much of a chance to do any couple things this time around. It was just too busy. We should have some time together again in June. Maybe then.
I know how you feel. I requested a book on NetGalley like two months ago, and just now got accepted. I kind of hoped I wouldn't have to read/review it since there's less than a month between me being approved and the release date. Oh well… I'll have to squeeze it in somehow. I hope you get to all of your NG books!
It is terrible when you give up on a book and then suddenly have to work it into your reading schedule.

It is funny how a crazy kid week means a crazy parent week. Between your husband's work, her going out of town and the family gatherings it does sound like a busy time! NetGalley is a dangerous dangerous place. I'll go weeks without getting anything and then all of a sudden I need all the books! Hope you're having a great week!
It was a crazy week and it sounds like we might have a few more coming. I tend to do really good with NetGalley and make progress and then have a weak moment and download all kinds of things.
Sorry you didn't get much time with your husband while your daughter was away. I'm glad that I've never really gotten into browsing NetGalley. I only go on there to look for a specific book. But most of my books are audio, so that is why it worked out that way. Have a great week.

Sometimes when someone else has a big event happening in the family it kind of affects everyone else in the house so I can understand what you mean! I hope she enjoys her trip. I also know how much you like Kelley Armstrong's books, so I hope you'll enjoy the new one you got!!
