I have been dealing with carpal tunnel for a while. There are days that after being on a computer all day at work, it is next to impossible to spend any more time on the computer when I get home. This is why I sometimes need to skip commenting some nights and then I get behind and the cycle just never seems to end. I finally did something about it. I have had several doctor’s appointments and tests in recent weeks and had to decide if I wanted to go with the surgery or another option. I ended up getting some shots on Thursday that should help for a while at least that’s the plan. The doctor made it sound like surgery will eventually need to happen but I want to avoid that step for a bit longer. I do appreciate everyone for hanging in there with me.
Overnight Sensation by Sarina Bowen (For Review)
Jade City by Fonda Lee (Kindle Purchase)
Through the Fire by Katie Ruggle (Kindle Purchase)
Echoes by Alice Reeds (Kindle Purchase)
Pretending He’s Mine by Mia Sosa (Won – Goodreads Giveaway)
Butterface by Avery Flynn (Kindle Freebie)
Blood Heir by Amélie Wen Zhao (NetGalley)
Second Hand Curses by Drew Hayes (Audible Purchase)
I was supposed to take it easy with adding books to my tbr this week. Looks like that didn’t quite work out though. I added 2 books for review this week so I am at a total of 3 for the year. I am going to have to pace myself if I want to keep it under 52 for the year which is my goal. I love Sarina Bowen so I was really excited to get the chance to read Overnight Sensation and plan to read that one this weekend. I am a sucker for sales and picked up Jade City, Through the Fire, Echoes, and Second Hand Curses at great prices this week. I was excited to win a copy of Pretending He’s Mine in a Goodreads giveaway this week. I couldn’t resist Butterface when I saw it offered as a freebie. I noticed Blood Heir was on NetGalley as a Read Now title earlier this week and decided to take a chance on it (it looks like it is now offered for request).
Ohh Blood heir looks good!
And ugh, that does not make it fun being on the computer! Take care now
I thought that Blood Heir looked like it was worth a try.
I am glad it was a restful week but that you were also able to go to the doctor and seek some consultation on the problem you've been having. It sounds painful and I hope with her the doctor's help and possibly surgery in the future things will improve! Take it easy with commenting and so on x
Thank you!
I have carpal tunnel, too. It hurts, but it’s not bad enough that I’ve done anything about it. I hope the shots help you. Have a great week!
Aj @ Read All The Things!
I am just now tryng to do something about it but I have had it for a very long time. It is now bad enough that I can't ignore it anymore.
Ugh. I'm afraid that I may get carpal tunnel one day since I'm on the computer a LOT! My aunt had to have surgery done on both wrists (one at a time) and it was rough recovery I think. I can't remember, but I remember seeing her wear casts on each wrist in between several months. Hopefully the shots will work longer than anticipated!
Yay for the new reads though! And you got Echoes!! Yay!!! I soooo loved that book! It was insane how hooked I got by it and I was dying for a sequel and it seemed to take forever for one to be announced! Just glad that it was because my heart would not have been able to handle no sequel! Lol! Hope you enjoy all your new reads!
My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
I am hopeful that the shots will work. I am looking forward to Echoes!
I'm sorry you have those difficulties. Pain makes it hard to do anything. Mu daughter has had different issues but so far has done better with PT than any surgery. Don't worry, I'll hang in here with you. 🙂
I considered the Drew Hayes ADD but decided I have so many already I held back.
I hope this week is better! Enjoy those new reads! Anne – Books of My Heart
The doctor seems to think that I will probably need surgery at some point but I want to put it off for as long as I can. Thanks, Anne!
Carpel tunnel syndrome, no fun. People will understand if some days you just can't (or shouldn't!) comment back; it's okay. Take care!
Thank you!
I understand your reluctance to have surgery. I decided not to have surgery on my Thyroid a few years ago and even though the lumps are large, I would rather deal with that. lol Hopefully you feel better with the shots for a while.
I am finding that most surgery is worse than expected so I am just wanting to skip the whole thing.
I am itching to read the new Bruisers book. I can't wait to see what you think. Sorry to hear about your wrists. I stopped using a mouse over a decade ago because of carpel. I also stopped knitting and crocheting, which I really miss, but the pain is not as severe as it was when I did all that. Glad the shots are helping.
I read Overnight Sensation yesterday and loved it, Sam! I am trying to figure out how you go without a mouse. I don't use one on my laptop but I do at work.
Neat that you got to take it easy getting into work this week. Yikes, I've had issues with carpal tunnel. So far my brace and rest helps so I can keep avoiding surgery.
Oh hey, I grabbed Butterface, too. You found some good ones.
Have a great week, Carole!
I think that carpal tunnel seems to be a rather common problem. Some days have been better than others. I am hopeful the shots will offer some relief.
Oh no sorry to hear about the carpal tunnel! Hope the shots help!
Jade City looks awesome, and I liked Echoes a lot. And like Jessica said above I was so glad to hear there's a sequel coming for it now!
Yay, another Echoes recommendation!
That's a nice list of books you got there. I just got back from holidays so none for mw
Thank you!
I can't wait to grab up Overnight Sensation, should be a fantastic book, I am in love with this series. They are so dang good.
Overnight Sensation was fantastic!
I'm sorry to hear about your wrists, I'll be sending positive vibes your way!
I've got Blood Heir as well, I still need to read Brooklyn Bruisers!
Thanks! I hope we both enjoy Blood Heir!
I grabbed Blood Heir too! It sounds like such a fantastic read. Happy reading!
I would have to agree. I just couldn't resist it!
Sorry to hear about your carpel tunnel syndrome. Hopefully the shots will help for a while.
I love The Brooklyn Bruisers series and I can't wait for the newest. Katie Ruggle is also a favorite. 🙂
Overnight Sensation was a fantastic story. I now need to go back and read the rest of the series.
Sorry about the Carpel Tunnel – I know so many people that suffer from it. Glad your week was pretty good. Looks like some good books too. Have a wonderful week.
Mary
Thanks, Mary!
I hope you can avoid surgery for awhile! That's good the shots are supposed to help for a bit, but definitely don't over do it. We'll all still come visit. 🙂

Thanks, Lauren!
Very nice batch of reads. Enjoy! I have carpal tunnel in both arms. It's not so bad that I want to do surgery yet. Bit it makes work hard for sure. I hope the shots work for you.
My Sunday Post
Thanks, Laura!
I've struggled with carpal tunnel at times too. It can make blogging (and lots of other things) really hard. So sorry!

It really is a pain when my hands don't want to do what I need them to do.
I do hope the shots work with easing your carpal tunnel pain. It must be so frustrating for you, especially with the potential worry of future surgery
I am going to do what I can to avoid surgery.
Hope you hand feels better soon. My Mom had the surgery and it went pretty well. I had a shot in my thumb once because I had a trigger finger acting up and it was the worst pain I ever felt. I don't think surgery could have hurt as much as the shot. Echos is a book I'm really interested in and I grabbed The Blood Heir as well.
I made the mistake of trying to watch them give the shots. I hope we both enjoy Blood Heir.
My mum had it. She got an operation under local anaesthetic and it certainly corrected the problem quickly. I don't know if some of these splints and wrist supports would help in any way-they did help when I was having issues with pins and needles through my arm and hand. I don't really know enough about CT to know!
