Stacking the Shelves #161

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality.

My Life
Don’t you sometimes wish that life would just slow down?  I sure do.  I spent last weekend out of town and made it back home Monday evening.  Just in time to do a bit of laundry and get ready for work on Tuesday.  After work on Wednesday, we had to take our Molly to the vet (she was not impressed) and then we headed to parent-teacher conferences (for the very last time!).  I was behind all week at work and had next to no reading times.  But hey, there’s always next week.

If I have missed returning comments on some blogs, I am sorry.  I have tried hard to catch up but I know that I may have missed some people.  I am going to try to stay on top of things this week.

Books Added

Under Currents by Nora Roberts (Publisher)
Donna Has Left the Building by Susan Jane Gilman (Publisher)
The Beyond by Chloe Neill (Publisher)

The publishers have been very generous this week.  I cannot wait to read these gems.

Watchers of the Dead by Simon Beaufort (NetGalley)
Wherever She Goes by Kelley Armstrong (NetGalley)
The Grand Dark by Richard Kadrey (NetGalley)

So much for not adding too many review books huh?  I am really looking forward to these so I have no regrets.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  1. Ugh, I am not ready for today's storms! To think last weekend we were worried about snow! Lol. Hope you have a less hectic week this week.

Very nice new reads!! I'm curious about Kelley's new book but didn't put a request in. I find myself really wanting to get back to my TBR pile for awhile. I'll still likely pick up a copy of that one when it releases. I'm just getting so close to clearing my review pile and I really want to read some backlist titles and other new releases that I've been ignoring in order to get caught up on review books.

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

  2. I'm excited about The Beyond and Wherever She Goes. I have the latter but I'm waiting for audio on the former. I had the big haul again this week. So many things I want to read. I hope you get a break this weekend and enjoy some of them. Anne – Books of My Heart

  3. Sounds like a busy week but you got some great looking books! I'm always a fan of getting a new Nora Roberts and the rest look good too. Have a great week!

  4. You are super busy all the time. I went out one day last weekend, and it put my whole week off. Since my daughter left, I live a very quiet life, and the one day wore me out. I don't think I would be able to keep up with your schedule.

  5. For a reader, not getting reading time is agitating. 🙂 Hopefully, you'll be hitting those great books you got this next week. No worries if you don't have time to visit and comment as much. Totally understandable.

    Have a great week, Carole!

  6. I hate weeks like that where it's run run run! Hope your reads are good this week though. 🙂

  7. Mr. Barb had surgery this week so it's been pretty low key here. Add that with my cold that just won't leave and I have gotten a lot of reading done. I just got a copy of the Armstrong book too. Pretty exciting. Hope this week slows down for you.

  8. I totally agree, I wish life would slow down a bit, at least life outside of work. Work can still go on full speed, how's that? I'm interesting hearing what you think of the Armstrong book. I was tempted to request it, but something is holding me back.

  9. Yes, I feel like I've been wishing for it to slow down more and more. It's just so tiring! I am worried about what I'll feel like when I'm older… And I am also having trouble catching up with the blogs! The week needs another day, basically.
    Congrats on the new hauls!

  10. I do wish time would slow down sometimes (except when I'm at work wishing it was time to get off already). The past couple of weeks have flown by for me as well. We've been so busy. I just need some time to breath, I think. I hope you enjoy your new books! The Beyond interests me quite a bit. I added some review books this week as well–despite my telling myself I wouldn't. Oh well. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, Carole.

  11. You certainly had a very busy week! I hope things do calm down next week and I know that sometimes we really need a break. A lot of traveling can be really hard and draining on the energy!
