Stacking the Shelves #192

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality.

My Life
My husband and I went to see a football game at my daughter’s college last Saturday.  It was about a 5-hour round trip and it was pretty cold sitting at the game but I got to see my girl so I guess it was worth it.  I ended Sunday with another headache which hung around until late Monday.  It has otherwise been a pretty calm week even though I never seem to have enough time to get things done.

My daughter is coming home from college for the weekend.  It will be nice to have her home for a couple of days.  Tonight we are going out to dinner to celebrate my mom’s birthday.  I have my fingers crossed that Sunday will be a quiet day.

Books Added

Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik (Purchase – BOTM)
The Fountains of Silence by Ruta Sepetys (Purchase – BOTM)
The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow (Purchase – BOTM)
At the Water’s Edge by Sara Gruen (Purchase – Gym)
Strange Weather by Joe Hill (Purchase – Used Bookstore)
Bone Crossed by Patricia Briggs (Purchase – Used Bookstore)
Don’t Breathe a Word by Christie Craig (Publisher)
The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaimen (Purchase – Gym)
Not My Daughter by Kate Hewitt (Publisher)
Unnatural Magic by C.M. Waggoner (Publisher)
Somebody’s Daughter by David Bell (Purchase – Gym)
Song of the Crimson Flower by Julie C. Dao (Publisher – Bookish First)

Yes, I know that this is an obnoxious number of books to add in a single week.  I got three books from the Book of the Month club.  I picked up three books from the sale cart at the gym that I use which cost me a total of $1.  We visited a neat used bookstore when we visited my daughter at her college last week and I picked up two more books.  And publishers were very kind to me this week and sent 4 books for review.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  5. I added a few YA books this week that I'm excited about, and a thriller. I've been on a thriller kick lately. I really want to read Spinning Silver by Naomi Novak. I think I may take a storm day this winter and read that one. It seems like such a good book to cuddle up with!

I hope you had a great visit with your daughter. Thanks for sharing. πŸ™‚
