Stacking the Shelves #253

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality.

My Life
I thought that this week was going to go on forever!  I think that now that we are on Daylight Savings time we should just leave the clocks alone.  Of course, very few people care what I think so I guess I can just look forward to feeling exhausted one week every spring.  Oh well.
We have been getting quotes for new basement windows and doors for the house.  We finally made a decision this week and put our order in.  Our house was built in the 60s and a few of the doors are the original doors so an upgrade will make a big difference.  With 3 dogs, we open the sliding glass door to the backyard approximately 4,000 times daily so I will be happy to have a new one with the blinds built into the door.
This week I started trying to manage my time a bit differently.  I am doing my blog hopping first thing in the morning and leaving my evening to write reviews and catch up on Bookstagram.  I am hoping that I can consistently find time each day to read.  The reading didn’t really happen this week but we will see how next week goes before I change anything up.
How was your week?
What I’m Reading
I finally finished What Big Teeth by Rose Szabo!  I actually liked the book quite a bit.  It was weird but I like weird books so it worked for me.  I also completed The Drowning Kind by Jennifer McMahon.  This book is told in two timelines and there was a creepy vibe to the story that kept me very interested.

I have been reading one short chapter of Gathering Dark by Candice Fox every night this week but I hope to invest a lot of time in the book today.  I have barely started Sea of Love by Melissa Foster but I am really excited about this story.

Books Added
A Good Day for Chardonnay by Darynda Jones (NetGalley)
Sheltered by Justin S. Leslie (Author)
Max Abaddon and the Purity Law by Justin S. Leslie (Author)
Sea of Love by Melissa Foster (Publicist)

  1. I'm actually feeling the opposite on the clock thing. Give me back my hour, then leave the clocks alone! Lol. I don't feel like it's necessary. My stepdad was telling me he heard the whole changing clocks was due to the war and giving everyone more time to fight during daylight. To me it doesn't make sense because it's like, in that situation, who cares what the time is, just fight as long as there's sunlight! Lol. But yeah, I'm still not adjusted to the change and probably won't be until April. But when that glorious moment comes in November, I'm adjusted that day! Lol.

Nice new reads! I haven't decided if I wanted to get the ARC of Darynda's. I really want to read it, but my review pile has been crazy this year and I'm dying to read my TBR books. I've been trying to limit the books I accept/request and such. So I still plan to read that one, just not sure when. Lol.

    Happy Reading!

    Here's my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

  2. That’s my current blogging schedule! I blog hop in the morning and write posts at night. It works well for me. I’m sad that it will change when I go back to work fulltime in two weeks. I work at a campground, which is open 24/7, so I end up working night shifts and other bizarre hours.

  3. It took me a day not to feel tired, but all week I kept getting what day it was wrong (maybe that was just a coincidence. LOL). Yay for getting your new doors and windows ordered and a doorwall that you don't have to fiddle with the blinds each time you open it.
Hopefully your new commenting, blogging and reading plan will work efficiently for you.

    Have a great week, Carole!

  4. I think I'll feel tired until the clocks change back! I'm all for falling back but this springing forward stuff kills me! A door with the blinds built in is definitely the way to go for those with dogs. It makes life so much easier! Good luck with your new schedule and have a great week!

  5. I wish they wouldn't change the clocks. I'm enjoying the later light because we don't get up very early in this house. I love the idea of windows with the blinds inside! I hope you find a new system which works for you; even once you do all systems need fine tuning from time to time.

  6. I am with you, Carole. Let's stop changing the clocks. Get congress on that, stat. I really do believe consistency is the key. I have blocks of time allotted for certain tasks, and it seems to help. Good luck with that and the new doors and windows too.

  7. Definitely been a long week for me as well, but mostly because of work. It sucks when the weekend goes by like a blink of an eye. Sigh.

Anyway, I hope you'll have a great week ahead, Carole.

  8. The time change didn't really bother me this go around, I think maybe because I am tired all the time I didn't notice! 🙂 I would like to keep it this way though. 🙂

  9. Uh girl, I completely felt the same about the time change. Being pregnant right now it's so difficult already to grab myself out of bed. Add in one less hour of sleep and I was a grumpy hag all week long.

Looks like you had a good reading week. I was having a bit of a crappy week so my reading took a dip, but I'm glad you're getting a new schedule into place so you can be more productive.
