I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.

My Life

This was a good week! Last Sunday, we went to my daughter’s college to see her recital. She did a great job and it was nice to be able to see her for a little while. On Monday, our new roof was installed without any problems. The rest of the week was pretty uneventful until Saturday when we met my sister and her family to build a frame to support her swing. We ended up going out to dinner as a group which was nice.

Today we are planning to finally paint the ceiling in our kitchen/dining area. I am not a big fan of painting and this isn’t going to be the easiest room to paint. I have put it off for weeks but it is time to get started. I am not sure how much computer time I will have but I hope to catch up with everyone at some point during the week.

What I’m Reading

I finished 4 books this week. Crowfall by Ed McDonald was a fantastic book and I thought it was a great way to wrap up the trilogy. I always enjoy Ilona Andrews so I was eager to listen to The Kinsmen Universe. The Introvert’s Guide to Blind Dating by Emma Hart was a fun and flirty listen. City of Time and Magic by Paula Brackston was a wonderful installment in the Found Things series.

I am almost halfway through Changes by Jim Butcher and am loving it. It was a 5 star read the first time I read the book and I think that I am enjoying it even more this time around.

Books Added

A Little Hope by Ethan Joella; Once There Were Wolves by Charlotte McConaghy; The People We Keep by Allison Larkin

  1. I’m not the biggest painting-fan either! We got new glass in our windowns upstairs, and the frames had to be painted. I hated it.

My boyfriend went on and painted them together with my mom! #luckyme

  2. You’re too cute in your onsie. It’s nice to see such a great week in review from you. Glad all the home things went well. I can’t wait to hear what you think about The People We Keep. I was surprised by how much I liked that book

  3. Great reading week! I love the Dresden files but I know something sad happens in the latest book so I keep putting it off…lol.

Have a great week and happy reading!

  4. Wow you are having a fabulous week with family time, lots of reading, completed roof project. The contractors will be painting my kitchen / family room ceiling this week and I hope they do a good job. The project is wrapping up but I’m a little nervous about a few details yet.

  5. Sounds like a fab week. I don’t blame you for dragging your feet on painting the ceiling. Yay for getting four books read. I have the latest Kinsman Universe from Ilona Andrews, too.

    Have a good week, Carole!

  6. I don’t mind painting so much as I hate painting ceilings! It tends to flair up my neck so my husband and I have worked out a system where I refill the rollers and he stays on the ladder. I hate it slightly less then having to paint the ceilings. Lovely that you had such a good visit with your daughter! Enjoy your new books and I love the blanket you have them on. Such a beautiful color and looks so cozy. Have a great week!

  7. I am seeing these Ilona Andrews books everywhere so I definitely should pick them up soon. Happy to see that you enjoyed that Emma Hart novel. Her voice is quite entertaining to listen to.

Good luck with your painting project there. Hope it goes by swiftly for you.
