Weekly Wrap Up #431

I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.

My Life

This week seemed to fly by. After getting to the office on Tuesday, I discovered that the internet wasn’t working. All of my work is online, including the phones, so I packed up some stuff to work on and headed back home to work. My dogs were thrilled with the arrangement and I think that they are my favorite co-workers.

The library closed early on Saturday so I had some extra time off. That worked out because I had a memorial service to attend. Unfortunately, my husband left his phone in my sister’s car so we had to drive to her house to retrieve it. I got to see my niece, nephew, and their dog, Ally which is a very good thing but my extra time off was completely gone by the time we finally made it home for the night.

I am going to apply for a full-time position that was just posted at the library. I love working there and the benefits are amazing. I doubt I will get the position since I am so new in the job but can’t pass up the chance to get into the job that I want and go back to working just one job.

How was your week?

What I’m Reading

I finished 4 books this week. I enjoyed A Mask of Flies by Matthew Lyons and loved that the story kept me guessing until the very end. I have been eager to pick up The House at Watch Hill by Karen Marie Moning and it delivered everything I hoped it would. Schemes & Scandals by Kelley Armstrong was an incredibly entertaining novella. When I found out that one of my co-workers at the library had written a book, I just had to pick it up. My Invisible Father by Jaer Arstead-Jones was a deeply layered young adult novel that gave me a lot to think about.

I am juggling 4 books right now. I decided that I needed to read The Hexologists by Josiah Bancroft with my eyes. The story is great but I am having trouble keeping up with the audiobook. I am reading this one during my breaks at the library so it will be slow but steady progress. Haunted to Death by Frank Anthony Polito is my current bedtime book. (I read a chapter or two before falling asleep at night). I haven’t read enough to form an opinion but it is good so far. Dating & Dismemberment by A.L. Brody is the monster rom-com I didn’t know I needed. I am a huge fan of Erin Hahn’s writing and am enjoying Catch and Keep just as much as I had hoped I would.

  1. Glad you had a decent week! And yay for awesome coworkers! Lol. It doesn’t hurt when they are cute little furballs either! Good luck with the library position! That sounds awesome. I feel like a bookish job would be great for me , but every time I looked the pay wasn’t where it needed to be so I could support myself solo, so alas it will always be a pipe dream!

Nice new reads! These are new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

  2. That would be so great if you could get that full time library position! Fingers crossed. And your dogs sound very cute. Have a good week. 😀

  3. Overall a good week. Nice to work at home more regularly if they would let you. Even 2 days a week would let you drive less and avoid the smoke and do things like laundry in the background. Over time you will get more experienced at the library and if you keep trying you will get a position you want!

  4. I am glad you are taking your shot and applying for the library position. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. I bet your dogs felt spoiled when you worked from home. Extra time with mom! I read Catch and Keep this week, too. Amazing! I was a bit let down by Hahn’s last romance, so I was glad this one rose to my (high) expectations.
