I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.
My Life
Christmas has come and gone. Well, almost. We are having lunch with my husband’s family to celebrate the holiday today but then all of the festivities will be over for us. I was worried that we wouldn’t be able to do anything for the holiday after learning that my husband was exposed to Covid on Monday. He was able to get tested early Christmas Eve so our plans were able to stay in place. We had a small gathering with my girls, my sister and her family, and my mom on Christmas Eve. Christmas Day was spent hanging out at home with a book and a dog (or three) curled up at my side.
My youngest daughter came home from college this week. She’ll be home for a couple of weeks which will be nice. She was especially happy that my husband’s Covid test came back negative. I don’t think that she wanted to be quarantined with her parents for some reason. It’s like she thinks that we are boring or something.
If you celebrate, I hope that your holidays were great. How was your week?
What I’m Reading
I was able to finish 4 books again this week. The Annual Migration of Clouds by Premee Mohamed was an interesting story set in a world shaped by climate change. True Crime Story by Joseph Knox was a well-done full-cast audio that kept me guessing until the very end. Hello, Transcriber by Hannah Morrissey kept me turning pages as quickly as I could. A Reason for Hope by Kristin von Kreisler was an emotional story dealing with sexual assault and its aftermath.
I have listened to a little more than 2/3 of An Ambush of Widows by Jeff Abbott and cannot wait to see how everything comes together as the book draws to a close. I am almost halfway through Twenty Years Later by Charlie Donlea and am rather intrigued by the story.

Love your Santa photo. Glad covid didn’t ruin your holiday. It’s the worst! My daughter couldn’t come home until Christmas Eve because she was finishing her 10 day isolation after testing positive. Close call there. I hope you love the Shalvis. I though it was wonderful!
I’m so happy you were able to enjoy your family and have a merry Christmas without COVID. I loved the Donlea book. I’m waiting on the audio for the Shalvis book. Enjoy the time with your daughter home . I wish you a very happy new year!
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
What a relief that your husband didn’t catch Covid right before Christmas. Fun that you could gather with family. Sounded like a fun one. We gathered with family two days and Skypped with distant family.
I’m glad the test came back negative.
I hope you had a nice Christmas.
I am glad your husband’s test came back negative, Carole, and you were able to have a nice Christmas with family after all. It sounds like you have been able to get some good reading in as well. I have not been reading as much, although I did spend a good part of today doing just that. It was so nice! I hope you have a great week and have a Happy New Year!
So glad your husband tested negative though had to laugh at your daughter thinking you’re boring. The Shalvis book looks wonderful. I’m so behind on her books which is crazy because I love her books. I hope you’re having a wonderful week!
