My Life

What a week! I am sorry that I wasn’t around much. I just had too much going on to keep up with the blog. Last weekend, we happened to see a truck that was exactly what we wanted. I was not in the market to buy a truck and wasn’t even looking. We just happened to take my mom to eat at a restaurant next door to the car lot. We knew we wanted a regular cab truck instead of the 4 door ones you find everywhere. This one was babied by its previous owner and was really low mileage so we decided to go for it. So we are now the owners of a F-150 4×4.

All of my plants are in full bloom and keeping up with the yard is a full time job. I love all of the flowers but my allergies have not been kind. I was in bed at 8:00 pm one night this week because my head was killing me. I have been sneezing like it’s my new favorite hobby. My daughter came home from college last Sunday and has been home all week. I think that her allergies may even be worse than mine so we have been a lot of fun this week.

How was your week?

What I’m Reading

I finished 3 books again this week. Early in the week, I wrapped up the audio of Battle Ground by Jim Butcher. I am now officially caught up with the series but I must admit that I was a little disappointed by this book. I liked it but not as much as I had hoped I would. I then switched gears and listened to The Cannon by Leslie Pike which I found to be a nice shorter romance. After work on Friday, I finished reading A Rip Through Time by Kelley Armstrong and thought it was a great start to a new series.

I am currently reading 3 books and will probably start reading a fourth very soon. I have not picked up The Latecomer by Jean Hanff Korelitz this week but hope to next week. I read around half of Never Been Kissed by Timothy Janovsky and I am liking it even though I am finding it easy to set aside. I am a little more than halfway through Anatomy of a Scandal by Sarah Vaughan and can’t wait to see how things work out.

Books Added

Bad Bachelor by Stefanie London (Publisher)

Practice Girl by Estelle Laure (Publisher)

  1. Oh wow! That must have been kind of fun to get a truck so randomly! The flowers look gorgeous! I don’t have allergies that I’m aware of but always feel terrible for everyone who does this time of year. Having known enough people with them I know it’s no fun. Hope they clear up soon!

Nice new reads! Those are new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

    • I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get this truck since it is exactly what my husband and I have talked about wanting. I don’t like sneezing but I can deal with it. The headaches can just go away though.

    • Exactly! I never see them so I am never tempted to buy one. Until I saw this one…lol. Thanks, Marianna!

  2. nice truck. 🙂 i love all the color in your garden. right now, we are just trying to keep things cleaned up and beautifying the small areas i have been working on. i want to add plants, but when…….i do not have a green thumb so all too often i get the wrong thing, plant it in the wrong place and…no voila. lol

    • The plants were here when we bought the house and I am just trying not to kill them. 🙂

  3. The flowers are looking great. I’ve had a few allergy issues but not untolerable. And I’ve been out weeding and weed n feeding a lot this past week. But really I had very little weeding to do. Once you get it setup maintenance is low. And I can listen to audiobooks while I do these things. Glad you were able to get the truck you wanted.

    • I hate the sneezing but I can deal with it. The headaches need to stay away though. I don’t think that I will ever keep up with the weeds. When my husband helps, we can make a big dent in things in about an hour though. Thanks, Anne!

  4. Yay for finding the exact truck you wanted! My brother-in-law is a Ford truck fan and refuses to drive anything else. Your flowers are absolutely gorgeous! I’m with you on the allergies and am not a fan. The mosquitos have shown up in droves here too so I’m swelling up like a balloon. If it wasn’t for the dog I would seal the doors shuts and not come outside at all. Have a great week!

  5. Congrats on the truck! that’s exciting. My allergies have been annoying this year too. I swear they just never go away; going from okay to really bad. LOL Sometimes I really do go to bed early!

I’m currently reading a few different books too; enjoying most!

  6. Your flowers are lovely, but be careful about showing your truck off. You know everyone hits truck owners up when they need to move big stuff. I read Bad Bachelor a while ago (fun series). They must be a doing a re-release of sorts or something.

    • Well, we got rid of a very old truck to get this truck so we have been the designated truck people in the family for a while. lol.

    • I wanted to have a bigger bed. This truck is tall even though it won’t hold a lot of passengers!

  7. The allergies sound miserable but congrats on the new truck! My husband got a new truck a couple months ago and hopefully he is done for a while. We are total opposites – I keep a car for years and years; he trades often. Makes me crazy. lol

    • We try to keep our cars for as long as we can. The truck that we replaced was a 2005 and it was time.

  8. My BF was so allergic to literally everything in life! I always felt sad seeing him like that. He got to do some experimental medical treatment and its TONS better now…

I still love your flowers though 🙂
