I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.
My Life
Things have got to calm down soon, right? Last Sunday, we hosted my daughter’s bridal shower. A lot of our family was able to make it and she seemed pleased so I am going to call it a win. My college-age daughter took a quick trip to Memphis with her boyfriend this week so my husband and I had a house that was a little quieter while she was gone. Today, my youngest turns 22 which is incredibly hard to believe. We are planning to start the day with homemade cinnamon rolls and meet our family for dinner later in the day. These are the last few days before we move my youngest back to college. She moves in on August 19th so I predict that much of my week will be spent keeping the laundry caught up and making her favorite meals one last time before she leaves.
How was your week?
What I’m Reading
I finished 4 books this week. I started the week off on a good note with Love in the Time of Serial Killers by Alicia Thompson. I finished listening to Kiss of Frost by Jennifer Estep early in the work week and found it to be rather entertaining. I then decided to tackle a book that has been on my NetGalley shelf for ages, Sage’s Eyes by V.C. Andrews. I ended the week listening to The Unleashing by Shelly Laurenston which is a re-read for me and I now feel ready to read more of the series.

I am so close to finishing Overkill by Sandra Brown and am really enjoying it.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
I been wanting to read something by V.C,. Andrews.
Have a great week.
The wedding will be here soon!!!! I suspect things will slow down then. Is this your youngest daughter’s last year of undergrad? If it is, it went fast. Hope you have a nice and relaxing Sunday
Glad the shower went well! Hope the wedding plans/events continue to go well!
Nice new reads! I’m dying to read Valentine’s new book! I still have a few of her back titles on my TBR to read, but they weren’t her thriller/horror ones so I didn’t get to them right away. This one I hope to read as soon as possible!
Happy Reading!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!

This short time period will go so fast. Both this week with your daughter before she leaves for school and your other daughter before her upcoming wedding. I actually enjoy doing laundry and cooking so it sounds like a good week to me. I can listen to audio books while I do those things so BONUS. Although cooking is often a time to talk with family as well. Savor this time while it is here.

Sounds like you had a good week. getting together with family is always nice.
The fact that you’re getting any reading done with wedding stuff and school stuff is impressive! I think you’ve got until after the wedding to have some calm but its going to feel amazing when it finally arrives! Have a wonderful week!
What a busy week, Carole! A whole lot of coming and going around your house. I enjoyed your review of Overkill so much that I put a hold on it via Overdrive. 🙂
I want to start the day with cinnamon rolls too!
Sounds like a good time for you and your family!
