I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.
My Life
This week was just a normal boring week and it was lovely. I went to work every day, read some books, wrote some reviews, and walked my needy dogs around the block at least once per day. It was so nice not having anywhere that I had to go or things I had to do.
I have been trying not to spend money. I did just pay for the majority of a wedding right after buying a truck for my husband so the cash flow is a little lean right now. I have been putting off buying new shoes for myself and my husband but after a week of waking up with my foot hurting all week, I caved and finally bought some shoes. I also really want to order the new Kindle Scribe. I have 5 other Kindles so I probably don’t need it but it is exactly what I have hoped to see in a new Kindle for a long time. I may have to wait a while for that new Kindle but I will eventually get one.
How was your week?
What I’m Reading
I am back in my reading groove! I started the week listening to A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik and I’m excited to read more of the series soon. I finished reading Bad Girls Drink Blood by S.L. Choi this week and found it to be an excellent read and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book in the series. I enjoyed the final book in the Scorpius Syndrome series, Knight Awakening by Rebecca Zanetti, and thought it wrapped things up nicely. I got all of the creepy twists that I hoped for with Little Eve by Catriona Ward. Dark Room Etiquette by Robin Roe was a fantastic way to end my reading week.

I am close to finishing Eat What You Kill by Ted Scofield and I think that it may be the first financial thriller that I have ever read. I am in the mood for some romance so I started reading Built to Last by Erin Hahn last night.

Books Added

Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone by Benjamin Stevenson (Publisher); The Serpent in Heaven by Charlaine Harris (Publisher); The Drift by C.J. Tudor (Publisher)

What books do you add to your shelves this week?

I love your Sunday Shelfie!
Yeah…I feel that! I didn’t intend to buy a lot of books this week, but then I went into B&N unsupervised and things happened! Lol. I am trying to save enough for a good down payment on my own house which is still slow going. I haven’t seen this new Kindle, I’m still fairly happy with my Voyage version so not sure if I will update just yet since I also prefer all the real books I can get! Lol.
Nice new reads! I haven’t started this series of Harris yet. I still keep meaning to finish her Midnight Texas one! Hope you enjoy all the new reads!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
I have heard about the Scribe, but I never take notes for reading what I read. Although I am sure those readers that really like to Annotate, will really enjoy that version of the kindle. I am thinking of grabbing up the new paperwhite though, just as a backup if anything happens to my oasis until the new one comes out.
I definitely understand saving money, I am trying to do that as well so that I can get my own place next year. But sometimes we need the essentials right?
Hope you have a great reading week ahead!
My daughter was talking about the Scribe. I couldn’t figure out if I need that functionality, but it’s shiny and new. Hope you enjoy another quiet week.
A normal week sounds lovely. It won’t be happening here this month. I’m also trying to hold back a bit on spending. I loved the Naomi Novik series and hope you will love it too. It felt to me like the style changed a bit after the first book but I adjusted and loved the next two also.

Yay for a ‘back in the saddle’ week. LOL, must take care of those feet. I don’t replace my shoes as often as I should and pay the price, too. Way to go hitting the reading stack and looks like you had some good ones. I still need to finish the last of that Zanetti series.
Have a good week, Carole!
It had to be a relief to get back to normal last week. And I can relate to hemorrhaging money. It’s seems like big expenditures always happen together. Ugh. That witch hat is the coolest! 🙂
Enjoy your new books, and shoes
I love boring weeks too! I don’t think I’ll be having one for a while though. I want to read Built to Last, too.
Hopefully the new shoes will help with the foot pain. So glad you had a nice boring week! After the last few months you’ve had you definitely need it! I love you Instagram photo. Have a wonderful week!
Five Kindles. I’m only on my third Kindle.
Have a great week.
Everyone In My Family Has Killed Someone is on my wish list – hope it’s a good read!
It’s so nice to just have a normal, relaxing week sometimes. I feel like it’s been really busy for me lately.
That Kindle Scribe looks perfect for book bloggers but it’s way out of my budget!
Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone is a fun read. I didn’t know Charlaine Harris had another book out, I’ll have to look for it.
Wishing you a great reading week
