I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.

My Life

This was a pretty calm week. On Tuesday, we voted and my daughter came home from college to cast a ballot. She spent 5 hours driving so that she could vote. I never miss an election and I have dragged her with me to vote more times than I could count. I am pretty proud that the message got through. We get to choose where to vote from a list of polling locations near our home so we went to the library. I was thrilled to learn that you can check out puzzles at my library! I came home with 2 puzzles and a book.

My puzzle obsession has continued. I did a 500-piece puzzle last Sunday night but it only took a few hours. I decided to start working on one of the puzzles that I checked out from the library Friday night. I was able to finish that 1,000-piece puzzle Saturday evening.

Today is my daughter’s senior recital so we are driving to her college to watch her performance. It is hard to believe that she is almost done with her degree. She student teaches next semester but this is her final semester of classes before graduating. We will be gone all day so I will work to catch up with everyone later in the week.

How was your week?

What I’m Reading

I was able to finish 5 books this week. I finished Miles and Miles of You by Jennifer Bonds early Sunday morning and really had a good time with it. My first audiobook of the week was Paris Daillencourt is About to Crumble by Alexis Hall and found the story to be exhausting. The Serpent in Heaven by Charlaine Harris was a fantastic read. I had planned to read Killer Frost by Jennifer Estep next month but decided to work it in this week instead and thought it was a great conclusion to the series. Next up was Million Dollar Demon by Kim Harrison which I loved.

I have read about 40% of Before I Let Go by Kennedy Ryan and am really enjoying it. I am absolutely loving The Witch’s Heart by Genevieve Gornichec and must admit that I am a little mad that I have waited so long to read it.

Books Added

Off the Map by Trish Doller (Publisher); Ice Storm by Tracy Goodwin (Publisher); Ruby Spencer’s Whiskey Year by Rochelle Bilow (Publisher)

Entangled: Amara Promo Box – Miles and Miles of You by Jennifer Bonds & The Sweetheart Fix by Miranda Liasson

  1. Kudos to your daughter for making the drive to vote. It’s so important. How cool that your library has puzzle to borrow! I love that. I hope you continue to enjoy Before I Let Go!

  2. That’s a neat promo box. Love the book nerd bag. So, when you check the puzzle back in, does someone count to make sure all the pieces are there? Just wondering.

  3. Yay for voting I’m a stickler for voting too. We vote absentee now that my husband is disabled, it’s a real pain getting him to the poll then going in to see if someone can come out and bring his ballot to the car. So it’s great that we can do it from home.
    Great wrap up

  4. That is such a great instagram post! Yay for getting five books in! That’s so great! I am happy that you are enjoying that Kennedy Ryan, I just had such a great time with that one.

  5. I’m glad you voted and are doing many other family, puzzles, reading and normal things. You are a puzzle talent! I am also mad when I wait too long to start a book I end up loving. I loved Million Dollar Demon too!

  6. That does speak well of you both that she came back to vote and you took her all those times. Enjoy the senior recital. Wow, time sure flies that she’s already student teaching next semester. Fun that your library loans out puzzles, too. It’s getting nippy and wet for the last part of this week so I might whip out a puzzle and join your craze. Whew, well done on the reading stack this week.

    Have a good week, Carole!

  7. That is so cool that you can check out puzzles from the library! And also great that your daughter drove home to vote. Good luck to your daughter with her senior recital and her student teaching. Have a wonderful week!

  8. Wow, I can’t believe your daughter is almost finished with school. Seems like she was just starting not that long ago! Puzzles are addictive! As soon as I get my dining room table cleared of all our kitchen stuff I can start on them. Fun to listen to an audio book while working them.

I have Off the Map, but I may grab up Ruby Spencer just from that cover alone! Looks good.

  9. That’s awesome your daughter drove so much to vote! Where I work, people started bringing in puzzles and we have this table where we all just randomly work on it (me and another girl the most probably LOL) so I’m a bit addicted to puzzles at the moment. I’ve heard Paris is a bit intense – and not in a great way. I’m kind of bummed, because I love the author. Might need to be a library book.
