Have you started your holiday shopping yet? Do you have any bookworms on your list? I thought it would be fun to share a few ideas that I think would be a great gift for any book lover.
This would be my pick for anyone who enjoys audiobooks! Each purchase helps support a local bookstore of your choice. The credits never expire and all of their audiobooks are DRM-free which is a huge plus. They have a fantastic selection of books and I think their app is one of the best that I have used for audiobook playback.
Book of the Month Gift Subscription
This is a fantastic gift for that book lover that enjoys having print books on their shelves! I have subscribed to BOTM for a long time and there are a lot of things that I love about their service. I enjoy getting the opportunity to purchase hardcover books at a discount and the shipping is always free! If you don’t like the books on offer, you can easily skip as many months as you want. Once you have purchased 12 boxes, there are some additional benefits including a free tote bag, a free add-on book during your birthday month, and the opportunity to add one of the books nominated for Book of the Year to your box at no cost.
They offer gift subscriptions in 3, 6, and 12 month plans.
As much as I like keeping track of things on Goodreads and spreadsheets, using a written reading planner has been a game-changer for me. There is just something incredibly satisfying about crossing something off my tbr list in my planner! Since I have been using a written planner, I have been able to stick to a plan and have started to catch up with my backlist and a few series that I have had on my tbr for a very long time. There are so many different planners available that you should be able to find the perfect one for the bookworm on your shopping list!
This is my pick for a reading planner – I use a few of the sheets in the book a little differently than intended but it has been a great solution for me. I have my 2023 planner ready to go!
A Gift Certificate to a Local Bookstore
You really can’t go wrong with a gift certificate. Most bookstores offer gift certificates in a variety of amounts so you can pick what works best for your budget. Not only does the recipient get to apply the amount of the gift certificate to their purchase. They get a great excuse to spend an afternoon or evening browsing the shelves of their favorite bookstore. Plus, gift certificates or gift cards for local stores help support local businesses.
More Ideas!
- Book Light – As I get older, I have found that I need more light to read so a book light is a must-have item! This is the one that I use and it would be a great stocking stuffer!
- Book Sleeves – I would have never thought that I needed something like this – until I got one. One of these days, I will get one with a zipper to keep my book extra secure!
- Bookish Apparel – I love a great bookish t-shirt or sweatshirt. I have bought a few from The Novel Babe and love the quality!
What bookish gift would you like to give or receive this year?
These are such great ideas here! Also, the KU subscription is great too, because if they don’t want KU then you can switch it to book credits if you wanted to instead.
I didn’t know that! That is an awesome tip!
Great ideas Carole!
This is a very thorough list! My family pretty much stalks my Amazon wishlist for titles that I’ve added haha. One of the best bookish gifts I ever got was a custom book press to mark each of the books on my shelves!
Awesome gift ideas 🥳
I keep thinking I need a good book light. Most of the time I read on my Kindle at night but sometimes I want to keep reading an actual book but don’t want to turn the light on. Great list!
I love book sleeves… and have a ridiculous number of them in different sizes. And I’m a big fan fan of book planners. I use a Happy Planner and just adapt it for my needs.
