My Life

What a week! My husband and I were both on vacation this past week and my daughter was home from college for most of the week so this was not an average week in our house. My birthday was Tuesday and we celebrated Thanksgiving with my family on Thursday. We are having our Thanksgiving celebration with my husband’s family today. I think that we will have around 22 people here so wish me luck!

In addition to all of the birthday/holiday celebrations, I also had to take my dog to the vet, clean the house, get my car’s oil changed, and had my annual mammogram. I even ended up taking my mom to urgent care on Friday. I didn’t spend a lot of time reading but I did work on a couple of puzzles with my daughter. I didn’t spend a lot of time online so I am way behind on getting to everyone’s blogs.

How was your week?

What I’m Reading

I did not get a lot of reading time this week and only finished 2 books. The Sweetheart Fix by Miranda Liasson was a very sweet romance. Foundryside by Robert Jackson Bennett was a fantastic story and I am kind of mad that I waited so long to give it a try.

I have read almost 20% of The Widowmaker by Hannah Morrissey and am eager to see which direction the story ends up going. I have read 55% of Priest by Sierra Simone and it’s just okay for me so I may not even finish it.

Books Added

Bad Girls Bite by S.L. Choi (Author); For You and Only You by Caroline Kepnes (Publisher);

  1. Happy Birthday, Carole! I feel like all stay-cations turn into catching up on chores. Glad you got some puzzle time in . 22 people! That’s a lot. May the force be with you today.

  2. Hope everything was okay with your mom and your own procedure. Sounds like a chaotic week! Ours was pretty crazy too and I’m glad it’s finally winding down…but I still have so many errands to run today that I somehow didn’t get to do yesterday or Friday. So not ready for Monday either despite a nice long weekend! Eek!

Ooohhhh the new You book! I cannot wait for that one! Trying to remember if I got approved for that one last time around…I thought I did but I am so behind with my reading this week too! Work was crazy in the beginning that I didn’t take a break for two days and then I got to get off early Wednesday so I read for a better part of the afternoon.

Hope you enjoy your new reads!

    Here’s my StS

  3. I’m glad you had the week off to celebrate your birthday and Thanksgiving. It’s nice you had all the family time. Don’t worry about blog visiting when you have your family to see. I haven’t managed to read Foundryside yet either. Robin really enjoyed it and that author.

  4. For a week off you sure were trotting hard. LOL, that’s how our staycations end up for us, too. Whew, 22 for Thanksgiving? Wishing you well with that one.

Happy belated birthday and a good week coming, Carole!

  5. Great week you have had there! Hope you have a fun time celebrating Thanksgiving dinner. I am so happy that the Miranda Liasson was such a win for you. Hope you have a great week!

  6. Happy belated Birthday and Thanksgiving! I am glad you and your husband were able to take some time off. How did Thanksgiving go? Ours was small–just four of us. We had a nice one though. I hope your mom is okay and it wasn’t anything serious. I am glad you enjoyed Foundryside. I’ve heard such good things about it.

I hope you are having a good week, Carole!

  7. Sounds like you had a busy, but nice week. Twenty-two people is a lot to have over! Hope you had a nice time. It’s hard to get a bunch of reading done when you’ve got a lot going on. I have a book by Miranda Liasson I need to get to. Nice to hear you enjoyed her writing.

  8. Wow, everyone at home all week had to feel strange – but in a good way. 😊 22 for Thanksgiving sounds like a big crowd. We were supposed to have 11 but (thankfully) those that were sick chose to stay home and we ended up with just 6. Needless to say there was a LOT of food. lol

  9. Oh my goodness you had a busy week! Happy birthday! I hope you had the best birthday. 22 people is a houseful! I hope it all went smoothly and I hope you got a nice nap after. Have a wonderful week!
