My Life

I feel like I spent the whole week trying to get caught up and I am not sure that I succeeded. I have the kind of job where work just piles up on my desk when I am out so I had a busy week trying to do last week’s work along with this week’s. I think I must have sprained my thumb and it was killing me Monday so my plans to spend the evening blog hopping were thrown out the window. I did spend a lot of time catching up with everyone the rest of the week though. I am going to try my best to stay on top of blog hopping this week!

We ended up with 21 people at our house last Sunday for my husband’s family’s Thanksgiving. I spilled the gravy and I wasn’t completely happy with how my desserts turned out but it was good overall. After everyone left, my youngest packed up her car and went back to college. She’ll be moving back home in just a couple of weeks.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to work on any puzzles this week and I am kind of sad about it. As soon as I finish the two books that I am reading that publish next week, I am breaking out some puzzles!

How was your week?

What I’m Reading

I was able to listen to 3 audiobooks this week. I started the week out with Murder on the Sugarland Express by Angie Fox and had a lot of fun with it. I listened to The Wilderwomen by Ruth Emmie Lang next and found it to be a very well-told story. I finished the week with Con/Artist by Tony Tetro and Giampiero Ambrosi and found it to be incredibly interesting.

I am still reading the same two books that I was reading last week and added 2 more! I have read about a third of The Widowmaker by Hannah Morrissey and am really interested to see where the story is going. I guess I haven’t given up on Priest by Sierra Simone since I read another chapter this week. I have been very focused on Curse of Shadows by A.K. Wilder and hope to finish it today. I have just started Romancing My Love by Melissa Foster but I like the way the story is set up.

Books Added

Mail Order Cowboy by Victoria James (Author); Cinderella and the Duke and Lydia Drake (Publisher); Never Cross a Highlander by Lisa Rayne (Publisher)

  1. I think Ethan had reviewed Con Artist. That whole lifestyle is so interesting. I hope your thumb is feeling better. You poor dear! I would be overwhelmed if all my work just piled up when I was gone. It’s one of the reasons I almost never took a sick day when I was a teacher. It was so much work to be out. Good luck with the grind.

  2. Glad things went well for the most part with your dinner! It’s always a nightmare trying to get back to work after a vacation. Even after a two days or so, I have to sift through hundreds of emails. Luckily, for the most part, I can delete things that are directly addressed to me. There’s a lot of department emails though.

Nice new reads! I looove the Charley Davidson series! It’s so fun! I hope you enjoy each and every one of your new reads!

    Here’s my StS

  4. yes, I get it. I’m the only worker here so if I get behind I’m on my own to catch up! I hope you’ll be able to have more routine this week and have some relaxing time with the family events finished for a bit. The holidays are coming again and your daughter will be home again.

  5. Looks like a great week – except the no puzzle part. πŸ™‚ Hope you find time to get back to that this week. I don’t have a table to leave one out right now because Christmas is all over every flat surface. Maybe in January though; I have a fun one waiting…..

  6. I hop your thumb is feeling better! I hope you get a chance to work on some puzzles! I purchased a 12 day advent jigsaw puzzle calendar for our family to try. I am hoping we can all work on the 12 puzzles together. Perhaps it will become a tradition. Looks like you have some good reading ahead of you. I hope you enjoy your books!

  7. Ouch with the thumb, but glad you had a quieter week to start getting things caught up. Looks like you enjoyed some good ones in the reading pile. I always enjoy Verity and Frankie in the Angie Fox series. Hopefully, you’ll get to some puzzles this week. I’ve got one about halfway done.

    Have a good week, Carole!

  8. Sorry to hear about all the work and your thumb and the gravy. My husband work is the same.. the work just keeps on piling up. He tries to catch up on what he can at night while on vacation but sometimes there’s just no catching up.
Hope you get to work on some puzzles this week.

  9. Wow, that was a lot of people over for Thanksgiving! Sounds like things went off pretty well. It’s hard to do traditional reading when you have a big plans like that. Hope you can get back to your puzzles soon. I still need to order a puzzle table since my dining room table is rough wood and not conducive to doing puzzles.
