Being bad never tasted so good.

Lane Callaghan almost died six months ago. Her heroic deed finally achieved the one thing she always wanted and finally realized she never needed—the sun fae’s respect. While the fae no longer wish her dead, she has new bigger, badder enemies at large. And after inadvertently binding herself to the beast inside her sugar muffin, Teddy, possibly within her bedroom.

Once again thrust into the unwanted role of heroine, Lane and her sisters are hired—some would say forced—into another job. This time, it isn’t just the sun stones that are missing, sun fae are vanishing without a trace. As Lane reluctantly begins to peel back the layers of the investigation, she discovers sun fae secrets and shames that hit a little too close to home and threaten to tear her family apart.

Lane must navigate a treacherous path through lies, secrets, and escaped homicidal druids, all with the jaws of Teddy’s black wolf hovering at her neck.

I really enjoyed this book! This is the second book in the Blood Fae Druid series and I would definitely recommend reading the series in order since this book builds on the events from the first book. I have grown to really like this group of characters and the world that they live in. I am so glad that I decided to give this series a try.

This book had all of the action and excitement that I hoped it would. Lane and Teddy’s relationship took a more pivotal role in this story and there are some pretty big developments in that area early in the novel. I have to say that I adore Teddy! Even when he knows what might be best for Lane, he has learned to let her come to those decisions on her own. It was great to see all of the characters working towards a common goal once again even if I was a bit worried about how things might turn out.

This story is told from Lane’s point of view and I really like her character. She is stubborn and sometimes decides to do things the hard way but she is also incredibly loyal and will never give up on those she cares about. I found her to be rather resourceful and I have really enjoyed watching her magic grow as she learns to fully use all of her abilities. I love the fact that the story has a thread of humor woven throughout the story which helped make reading the book a fun experience.

I would definitely recommend this series to fans of urban fantasy. I found this to be an incredibly entertaining story filled with an amazing cast of characters. I cannot wait to read more of this fantastic series!

I received a digital review copy of this book from the author.

  1. This one sounds so fascinating here, it definitely sounds intriguing for those who love UF. I only read it sometimes when it is more romance focused or I am in the mood for it. But definitely will add this one to my watchlist.

    • This one has some romance in it but I wouldn’t say it is the main focus. It was a very enjoyable sequel!

  2. One of my goals for 2023 is to try and read more urban fantasy. There’s so many great stories and characters in the genre and this one is on my list. Lane sounds like an interesting character.

    • It has been a very fun series so far and I am looking forward to reading more just as soon as future installments become available!
