My Life
What a week! I took some time off from both jobs. I had hoped to relax but I feel like I spent most of my time running around like a crazy person. I only had 4 days off from the bookstore. On Monday, we did some grocery shopping and I spent a lot of time catching up on things. On Tuesday, I had lunch and then did a little bit of shopping with my sister-in-law. Wednesday was my 50th birthday and I met my family for a nice dinner. Thursday, I slowed down a bit and spent my day listening to an audiobook while working on a puzzle.
I was back at work on Black Friday. This was my first experience working retail on Black Friday and it was eye-opening. I was so busy that the day flew by. It was really just amazing how many customers were in the store. Saturday wasn’t quite as busy but it is obvious that holiday shopping is in full swing. Today, we are having my family over for a belated Thanksgiving.
How was your week?
What I’m Reading
I only finished 2 books this week. I was so busy that I just didn’t get a chance to do a lot of reading. I listened to A Demon’s Guide to Wooing a Witch by Sarah Hawley while I worked on a puzzle on Thursday. I did get enough time to finish reading Bad Girls Break Bridges by S.L. Choi and enjoyed it just as much as the previous books in the series.
I have listened to a little less than half of Raiders of the Lost Heart by Jo Segura and am having fun with it so far.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Happy Birthday! Glad you were able to take some time to celebrate, and congratulations on surviving your first Black Friday. I have not worked retail since I was in college, but I remember the holiday chaos. All the malls and stores were packed by me too (not that I went in)
Glad you survived your first Black Friday in retail! Luckily my retail experience was just the grocery store. So no one is really running there on Black Friday! Lol. Although I was surprised the one time did work it how many people were in the store after the holiday. It’s nowhere near as crazy as the other stores and my store was always so slow anyway, seeing 3 customers was the rush! Lol.
Nice new read! Seeing this one around a bit lately. I hope you enjoy it!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!

Funny how the time fills up with rushing here and there, but I’m glad you had a fun birthday celebration and some quiet time for Thanksgiving. Yeah, I’ll be you could give some insight now as to the other side of Black Friday.
Have a good dinner today with family and a good week, Carole!
I always have plans to work on big projects when I have blocks of time off and then I’m frustrated I can’t do more of them in the time. I think I should be able to do 4 – 8 hour projects in 8 hours, right? So glad you had some time to celebrate and relax.

Happy Birthday!!!
Working on black friday in retail. Yikes
It was a busy week for us as well! I try and stay away from stores in general after Thanksgiving, but we had company and they wanted to see our historic downtown. It was crowded, but not horrible. At least with it being busy the day went by fast on Black Friday. Happy birthday! I hope you enjoy your belated Thanksgiving!
I’m looking forward to Raiders of the Lost Heart as well!
Happy Birthday! And I can imagine that Black Friday in retail is hard!
Time flies when you are off. It’s had 9 days but it seemed like 3. Glad you were able to squeeze some books in though.
Happy Birthday!
Happy 5Oth Birthday!!
Happy 50th and welcome to the club! Sounds like a pretty good week. It’s been ages since I’ve ventured out on Black Friday, so I have no idea how busy it is. I remember back in the day how lines would form before midnight, but with so much cyber shopping and sales all month, I feel like it is probably less?
Happy 50th!!!!!! Glad you got some time off and enjoyed it.
Happy belated birthday!
Happy birthday! Glad you had a great celebration. Hope you have a great week.
Happy birthday! I hope you had a wonderful time celebrating even though you were so super busy! I’ve never worked in retail on Black Friday so I don’t envy you that – though I bet the day passed quickly! I hope you are having a wonderful week.
