I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.
My Life
This was one hell of a week. St. Louis had a lot of snow so I ended up getting to stay home on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday when the library closed. Monday and Tuesday were fantastic days and I enjoyed getting to have some free time in the house.
Wednesday night, I received a call that my mother had fallen and my sister was taking her to the ER to figure out what was wrong with her arm. I woke up on Thursday at 5 am to learn that she had dislocated her elbow and it wouldn’t go back in place and she was being admitted. I got dressed and went immediately to the hospital where they tried to get her elbow back in place under anesthesia. Unfortunately, she must have so much soft tissue damage that the joint just pops back out of place when moved and will require more surgery. I spent 2 days sitting in a hard chair in her hospital room hoping to talk to the doctor. My mom is very hard of hearing and many in the hospital were wearing masks, making lip-reading impossible, so someone really needed to be with her to understand what was happening.

We were able to take her home Saturday mid-day. She will need more surgery after the swelling goes down in her arm. Until all is well, I will be spending a lot of time including many sleep-overs at my mom’s house.
How was your week?
What I’m Reading
I finished one audiobook this week but it was long, so I will take it. The Rebel by T.J. London hooked me early on and I fell in love with the characters.

I am still at 40% in Nemesis by Anna Banks and it looks like it will stay that way for a while. I am almost done with Better Than Friends by Jill Shalvis and am pleased to report that this book is just as good as I have come to expect from this talented author.

Books Added

The Love Haters by Katherine Center (Publisher); Listen to Your Sister by Neena Viel (Publisher); All the Water in the World by Eiren Caffall (Publisher)

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
I did see the libraries closed this week and thought, wow! I feel like it’s pretty rare for that to happen, but yay for your break! Oh no, your poor mom! I hope she’s doing better now. That’s insane that it keeps popping out of place. I hope the surgery can help keep it where it needs to be!
Nice new reads! Those are all new to me ones but I hope you enjoy each and every one of them!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!

I’m so sorry about your mother. In Minnesota it was so rare to have a snow day even with 20″ or more, they are just so prepared and have the right equipment. So when we did get one it felt like such a holiday. I hope at least you got to enjoy that free time. All the Water in the World has captured my eye too and I put it on hold at the library. I hope I can get to it.

Your poor mom! I am sorry about her arm and hope the surgery will help. What a nightmare for all of you. I hope you have a better week this week! Happy reading.
Your poor mom! I hope she is feeling better and that everything goes well. I remember snow days from when I was teaching. Those were nice. I can do my job remotely, so no snow days for me. Glad you had some down time to enjoy.
Your poor mom, I hope she heals fast and the next surgery fixes the problem.
Oh, I am so sorry about your mom! My mom uses a walker now to get around and I am always worried about her falling. Sending prayers and best wishes your way. I hope your mom heals up fast.
Just kept popping out of place, oh my your poor mum!
I’m so sorry about your mom. I hope she’s able to rest up and that the swelling goes down soon. I also hope you are able to get enough rest and find some time to take care of yourself.
