Weekly Wrap Up #445

I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.

My Life

My mom had her surgery on Monday. She now has some metal in her elbow and can start to get better. My older sister was able to take off so that she could stay and take care of Mom this past week which was a huge help. I came over to help with showers and my husband took Friday off work to stay so that my sister could head home. I have spent most of the weekend with Mom. She should get her bulky dressing off her arm sometime during the next week and we are hopeful that she will start being able to use her arm a bit with the next brace.

I really didn’t do anything exciting beyond working and hanging out with my mom. I was very excited to finally have a job where I get Martin Luther King Day off but I was stuck sitting at the hospital that day so it wasn’t very exciting. On Tuesday, the HVAC at the library wasn’t working correctly so we were told to stay home until further notice. We ended up getting to stay home for the whole day but didn’t know for sure until late afternoon. I decided to try my luck at getting my hands on a copy of the Target edition of Onyx Storm on Wednesday and was shocked to find a copy.

How was your week?

What I’m Reading

I was able to finish three audiobooks this week, or 3 half-audiobooks if you want to be precise. The Graphic Audio editions of Fourth Wing and Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros are split up into 2 parts. I listened to part 1 of Fourth Wing last week before moving on to part 2 this week. I also listened to both parts of Iron Flame. I am glad that I did a quick re-read since I have heard several of my co-workers at the library telling me that they didn’t remember certain things while reading Onyx Storm.

I have reached the 75% mark Nemesis by Anna Banks and am determined to finish it this week. I have listened to 10% of Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros and need to get busy today since I told my co-workers we could discuss it on Monday!

Books Added

The Butcher’s Daughter by David Demchuk and Corinne Leigh Clark (Publisher); The Lost Story of Eva Fuentes by Chanel Cleeton (Publisher); Deep House by Jeremy Atherton Lin (Publisher)

  1. I hope your mom feels better and recovers quickly. It was cold here and finally is warming up to normal this week. I’m listening to Onyx Storm now too. There are so many characters I’m having a minute to sort them in my head. But it’s going ok even though I didn’t do any rereading of the first 2 books.
