Stacking the Shelves #4

Posted January 23, 2016 by Carole in Stacking the Shelves / 34 Comments

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews
I added way too many books to my pile once again this week.  I actually got some books that I was really excited about this week so I am pretty pleased with my haul.  I spent less than $1 on books this week and I have enough reading material to keep me busy for a while.

NetGalley

Nobody But You by Jill Shalvis
Shelter Dogs in a Photo Booth by Guinnevere Shuster
The Girl from Everywhere by Heidi Heilig

I couldn’t resist Shelter Dogs in a Photo Booth.  I am a huge dog lover with 3 shelter dogs of my own.  I have seen a lot of positive things about The Girl from Everywhere so I thought I would check it out for myself.  I am also really looking forward to the newest Jill Shalvis book.

Edelweiss

Fool Me Once by Harlan Coben

I literally squealed when I received the email that I had been approved for the new Harlan Coben book!  I did get denied on NetGalley but it doesn’t matter…I was finally approved for a Harlan Coben book.

Audible Freebie

Death’s Heretic by James L. Sutter

It was a free and looks decent so why not?
This is free on Audible until February 16, 2016 if you are interested.

Kindle Freebies
Rocky Ride by Vivian Arend
Treading Water by Marie Force
Sweet Desire by Lauren Blakely
One Night with You by Marie Force

Freebies – I might read them and I might not.

Paid Books
The Island, Ghost Walk, Killing Kelly and The Vision
I couldn’t pass up this four book bundle for the yard sale price of $0.99!
What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  1. Can't go wrong with Heather Graham! It's been a while since I've read anything from her. The Girl From Everywhere is one I want to read. Happy Saturday!

    My STS

    • I haven't read anything by Heather Graham in a while either but I am looking forward to this bundle of books. When I saw The Girl from Everywhere as a read now on NetGalley, I just had to see what the fuss is all about.

  2. I'm getting a lot of free or cheap Kindle books so I don't feel as guilty about the quantity! Not helping the tbr much but I'm finding a lot of interesting new authors!

    • With freebies, I am pretty quick to click. If I never read the book, it isn't a big deal. If it is bad, I just delete it. I am trying to click on books that I think I might read someday but I am not in a rush. I do agree that it is a great way to find new authors.

  3. The Heather Graham bundle looks great! I love her books even though there are usually some plot holes. The Jill Shalvis is calling me. I'm pretty sure she can do no wrong! Enjoy your new books!

    • I couldn't pass up the bundle for less than $1. I really enjoyed the first book in this Jill Shalvis series. I still need to read the second one but I am excited to get the third one. I plan to read them back to back.

  4. How cool that you have three shelter dogs. We bought ours from independent breeders (not mills) but we participate in a fund raiser in our town each year where we raise money for our local shelter. I am sure we will have a rescue one day. You really did grab some great books. My STS was posted a tad later than normal due to being preoccupied with Winter Storm Jonas. Hope you are having a great weekend.

    • We have 3 dogs and a cat that we rescued from our local humane society. We did get the dogs as puppies and I actually have 2 puppies right now – they are a handful! Your dogs are beautiful, Barb! Stay safe in all of this snow.

    • It is amazing how many books I receive for review. I am hoping that my Stacking the Shelves posts will help me be more responsible. Maybe I won't spend as much or grab as many books since I will show everyone at the end of the week? We shall see.

  5. I don't know how I've managed this long without reading either Jill Shalvis or Heather Graham, but they are authors to check out this year. Thanks for sharing…and enjoy. Thanks for visiting my blog.

  6. Oh yay for Heather Graham. I have only read her historical's though, I do need to pick up some of her latest titles and soon especially since my library carries many of her books. So I have no excuse. And I do enjoy reading Vivien Arend. And yay for Netgalley. Hope you enjoy all of these.

That dog cover is simply irresistible, lol ! Congrats for the Harlan Coben and yay for the Heather Graham bundle ! I just looked it up but it's not available in France. I'll be reading my very first Heather Graham shortly 🙂 Enjoy your beauties !

  8. Sorry for the late reply! Well, there's never such thing as too many books 😛 It's great that you have such amazing deals this week! I really hope you would enjoy your books and I love anything Jill Shavis! So looking forward to your review on that 😛

    • I am always looking for deals! I probably have more books than I can realistically get to in this lifetime but that won't stop me from getting more. I am really looking forward to the Jill Shalvis book. I hope to get to it soon.
