Stacking the Shelves #7

Posted February 13, 2016 by Carole in Stacking the Shelves / 32 Comments

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews
Once again, I went a little overboard this week.  I will never catch up with my TBR pile if I keep adding books at this rate.  I guess it is a good thing that most of these books are digital or I would be running out of room in my house.

It is official  – I am a book hoarder.

NetGalley

Cuff Me by Lauren Layne
The Art of Not Breathing by Sarah Alexander

I couldn’t resist the temptation of these two books.

First to Read

Dodgers by Bill Beverly
Keep Me Posted by Lisa Beazley
Off the Grid by C.J. Box
Speakers of the Dead by J. Aaron Sanders
The Promise of Forgiveness by Marin Thomas

A new batch of books went out on First to Read and I picked up more than I should have.

Audiobooks for Review

The Fill-In Boyfriend by Kasie West

I am almost done with this audiobook so I am not feeling bad about this addition at all.

Books Purchased for Book Signings

Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys
Reign of Shadows by Sophie Jordan
Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard
Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
I wouldn’t have bought these books this week if it wasn’t for the wonderful author events held at my local library this week.  This was money well spent.
Library Books

City of Stairs by Robert Jackson Bennett
Passenger by Alexandra Bracken
Not If I See You First by Eric Lindstrom
He Will Be My Ruin by K.A. Tucker
Morning Star by Pierce Brown

Why is it that all the books that I have been waiting forever for my turn at the library all show up at the same time?  Is is just me or does this happen to everyone?

Kindle Freebies

The Original Miss Honeyford by M.C. Beaton
Man Without a Heart by Anne Hampson
Angel by Barbara Taylor Bradford
The Dreadful Debutante by M.C. Beaton
Dark Prince by Eve Silver
Remember Me by Sharon Sala
The Women in His Life by Barbara Taylor Bradford
Tonight and Always by Linda Lael Miller

I caught quite a few romances for free this week leading up to Valentine’s Day.

Paid Kindle Books

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

This was on sale for $1.99 and I had a $2 credit so I had to buy it. It just had to be done.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  1. It must be great to have a good library nearby. Our local libraries are rubbish. The books are years out of date for genres I like and if you want a new book you have to pay to have them bring it to their branch from another branch. Works out more cost effective to just buy the digital copy! Enjoy your books!

I am very jealous of your haul! I'm a fan of C.J. Box and the Red Rising series. Hope these books treat you well! Happy Saturday πŸ™‚

  3. As much as I love physical books, I've bought more on kindle lately because I am running out of room. I probably should sort through my shelves one day hut it's hard to get rid of books right? Can't wait to see your thoughts on City of Stairs. Happy reading.

  4. Gah amazing haul!! I got ACOTAR on sale too. That always happens with library for me too. They all come in at the same time and it always seems like a bad time as well. Can't wait to see what you think of Fill In Boyfriend. Enjoy them all!

  5. I hope you enjoy all of these! Can't wait to see what you think of Red Queen and ACoTaR. BTW, have you received your giveaway win yet? I thought it would have arrived by now.

  6. I see you went to the Salt to the Sea signing. Did you skip your daughter's performance? Lol.

P.S. You have a lot of awesome books here. I'm very jealous. Have fun deciding which one to take on first. πŸ˜‰

  7. Great book haul! You got so many wonderful books! I really enjoyed A Court Of Thorns And Roses. I hope you like it. Have a great week.

  8. what a great group of books you have here hun!! I love Linda Lael Miller though, especially her backlist. I do want to try out Laura Layne so badly. Eve Silver is on my wishlist but have yet to pic up her books even though there are a few at my library. Hope you enjoy all of these.

    • Thanks! I used to read a ton of Linda Lael Miller but I haven't read any of her books lately. I was shocked to be able to grab one of her books for free. I haven't read Eve Silver yet but I decided to grab the freebie.
