I know that I did a terrible job of visiting blogs this week. I promise that I am trying but some weeks it is just hard to make it happen. If you haven’t seen me in a while, I promise I will be by to see you very soon.
Even though I added quite a few books this week, I don’t feel like I really went too crazy. I barely looked at NetGalley and Edelweiss and spent very little time browsing for books.
Maestra by L.S. Hilton
Sweet Lamb of Heaven by Lydia Millet
I didn’t request a single book this week on NetGalley. I only have one book still remaining in my pending list so I am making some progress. I requested Maestra months ago and had given up on it so getting the email that my request was approved was bit of a surprise this week. Sweet Lamb of Heaven was a book that I must have wished for since my wish was granted. I don’t actually remember wishing for it but I am sure that I did since the book sounds really good from the description.
Library Books
What Was Mine by Helen Klein Ross
I saw a few really good reviews for this one and put my name on the list at the library. I really hope that I can get to it before my two weeks are up because I have been looking forward to it.
Kindle Freebies
Dying for a Living by Kory M. Shrum
Gone the Next by Ben Rehder
Must Love Dukes by Elizabeth Michels
I didn’t grab nearly as many freebies as I usually seem to do. I am really excited about Must Love Dukes and Tudy, Madly, Deeply.

The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski
Envy of Angels by Matt Wallace
I had a little bit of encouragement from my teenage daughter to buy The Winner’s Curse this week when it was the Kindle Deal of the Day. I don’t feel bad about spending $2.99 for a book that at least two people will be reading. I saw a few reviews for Envy of Angels and had to grab that one when it went on sale for $0.99. I spent less than $4 on eBooks this week so I did okay.

You've had a lovely week! I hope you like The Winner's Curse – I did, and this is the perfect time for you to start, with the conclusion coming out super soon!

I am pretty sure that The Winner's Curse went on sale because the conclusion is coming out soon. I have my fingers crossed that either me or my daughter enjoy it.
I'm the kind of person who can become obsessed with stupid things that I can't let go, sometimes even arguments from years ago where I think about what I should have said! It can cause some sleepless nights and I drive myself crazy with it. It's not always easy to just let something go so you have my sympathy on that. I hope you have a better week.
Everything ended up working itself out in the end but the stress was terrible. I drive myself crazy sometimes over the silliest things. Thanks!
I hope next week is less stressful for you. Enjoy your new books!
Aj @ Read All The Things!
When I was looking at next week's schedule, it looks a lot calmer so that it a big plus. I have lots of reading to fit in. Thanks!
I know how it is to have days where you are so overwhelmed with things beyond your control. I'm the same way. I hope you enjoy all of these; especially The Winner's Curse.
There just aren't enough hours some days. I tend to focus on something and just not let it go. I don't do it all that often but I drive myself nuts when I do. I have heard great things about The Winner's Curse so I am excited about it.
Sorry you had something you couldn't control bother you this past week, Carole. It's really frustrating when that happens. I hope next week will be great!
I need some down tim in the evening, too, I don't see my friends as often as usual anymore, because I prefer to stay at home when work is over…
You got some great books, this week, though. I hope you'll enjoy What Was Mine, I was really surprised by it.
Have a fabulous week ahead and happy reading.

I really like my days at home. When everyone tells me how bored they would be staying home all day, I just don't understand. How I wish I could quit my job and be home all day. I promise that I would never get bored.
If I remember correctly, your review was one of the ones that made me request that book from the library. Hopefully, I get a chance to read it before it has to go back. If not, I will just have to request it again.
I do hope you guys don't get sick!! Also that you have abetter week next. Enjoy all your pretty new books 🙂
I am really trying not to get sick. I have my fingers crossed anyway. Thanks, Grace!
Wow. You have great self-restraint! I've seen good reviews for Envy of Angels by Matt Wallace – can't wait to see how you like it!
I don't think I have a lot of restraint at all but at least I stayed off of NetGalley so that is a start. Envy of Angels is a fairly short book so I may squeeze that one in soon.
Envy of Angels and its sequel are great. I also really liked The Dark Days Club. You got some great books this week!
It might actually be your review that I was thinking about when I decided to buy this book. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed The Dark Days Club as well.
Must Love Dukes and The Dark Days Club looks so good! I do hope you enjoy your new books and thanks for hosting the giveaway as well! Happy Saturday! 🙂
I can't wait to read both of those books, Miranda! Good luck on the giveaway!
Well I hope next week is better for you. And ugh, sucks about the germ sharing.
Germ sharing does suck. I made my daughter stay home and rest all this weekend so hopefully she gets better soon.
I haven't heard of most of these but I hope you love them!! Happy reading 🙂
Danielle @ Life With Two Boys
I am hoping that they will all be worthwhile reads. Thanks!
oh these look like some great books to add to your library!!! Hope you like Must Love Dukes.
I hope to get to a historical romance soon. I haven't read one in a while and I think it is time. I couldn't pass up this freebie!
Winner's Curse is one of those books that I really, really want to read but everything I'm picking it up on the bookstore, a book I'm really looking forward more pops up. Soooo, next time Winner's Curse, I promise.
I hope you enjoy your new reads Carole! 🙂

I had The Winnner's Curse on my radar so when it went on sale last week it really got my attention. My daughter said that she wanted to read it as well so I grabbed it. Thanks!
Ooo… The Dark Days Club looks really pretty. I wasn't too excited about buying this book, just because I didn't think I'd read it anytime soon, but it's a lovely-looking book. Hope you enjoy!
I have no idea when I will get to a lot of the books for the book signing since I have so many ARCs to get through. It is really quite possible that my daughter will get to this before I do.
Hmm, the cover of Envy of Angels looks interesting! I may have to check that out. I'm trying to be good about Netgalley, and also Edelweiss. I'm writing down the books, and then waiting until closer to the time to download them. Unless it is one I know I want and I have to request it, then it is getting downloaded as soon as I'm approved. 🙂 Great haul!
Check out my Sunday Post
I have a goal to get caught up with ARCs this year. I haven't let myself look at NetGalley and Edelweiss very much this week so that is a step in the right direction.
