Stacking the Shelves #36

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews
This week was really busy at work so I was pretty tired most evenings.  I didn’t get a lot of reading time in during the week but I am looking forward to curling up with a book over the course of the holiday weekend.

Digital Books

Good in Bed by Jennifer Weiner (NetGalley)
Max by Sawyer Bennett (NetGalley)
The Passage by Justin Cronin (Purchase – Amazon Sale)
Absolute Power by David Baldacci (Purchase – Amazon Sale)
Vision in Silver by Anne Bishop (Purchase – Amazon Sale)
Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson (Purchase – Amazon Sale)

I only grabbed a couple of NetGalley books this week.  I’ve have always wanted to read Good in Bed so I jumped on that one and picking up Max was a no-brainer for me.  I also bought 4 books on sale at Amazon for $1.99 each and I am really happy with the purchases.

Print Books

Vicarious by Paula Stokes (Library)

I live in St. Louis and this book has an arch on the cover – of course, I had to read it!

Audiobooks

The Silent Girls by Eric Rickstad (Purchase – Audible Sale)
The Killer Next Door by Alex Marwood (Purchase – Audible Sale)
Lord John and the Private Matter by Diana Gabaldon (Purchase – Audible Sale)
Black-Eyed Susans by Julia Heaberlin (Purchase – Audible Sale)
The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson (Purchase – Audible Sale)
The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson (Purchase – Audible Sale)
I love a good sale and took forever to make up my mind with the Audible sale that ended this week.  I waiting until the last few hours to pick the books that I would purchase.  I spent less than $25 and have a lot of books to listen to so I am pretty pleased.
What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  1. I'm pretty pleased by my mixed haul this week-urban fantasy, fantasy, sci-fi, dystopia and horror! It's nice to get a little variety in my book grabs! I hate when being tired gets in the way of my reading. Hope things are better this week.

  2. I can't wait to read Paula Stokes' book either!! Did you know she's coming to St. Louis on 9/22 at Left Bank Books? I decided I need to get myself there! LOL! Because after all her book is set in St. Louis!! Heehee!!

My STS post will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

  3. I'm with you on being busy and being too exhausted to read! Hopefully you'll be able to relax this weekend. You got some great books! I've been wanting to read Anne Bishop and Good in Bed looks great! You got some great ones at the audible sale! Black Eyed Susans and The Kind Worth Killing look great. Have a great week!

  4. Awesome haul! Hope you enjoy these when you get to them. Yeah, sometimes you can feel too exhausted to read and some books just don't work for you in those moments. But thankfully there are some that will get you right out of it 🙂

  5. Great haul this week! I snagged Since You've Been Gone at sale price, too–can't wait to read it, I've heard awesome things about Morgan Matson books but haven't had the opportunity to try them out myself yet!

Here's hoping you enjoy your recent bookish acquisitions! If you're interested, here's my Stacking the Shelves–no pressure or worries if you're not, though! Regardless, happy book-ing to you in the near future!

  6. Sometimes I'm so tired that I can barely read a few chapters before falling asleep.

Nice haul this week. I see a Cold Fury Hockey book and didn't know there was one coming out soon. 🙂
I caught that Audible sale, too. I wanted so many, but I kept it to four books that will keep me busy for a while.

    Have a good week, Carole!

    • I don't think that the Cold Fury Hockey book actually comes out until December but I clicked on it as soon as I saw it on NetGalley. I wanted more than I bought but I was happy with what I was able to get for a price I was okay paying. Thanks, Sophia Rose!

  7. I want to read a Matson book in the future! I'm not a huge fan of YA contemporary, but I've seen good things about her books. I liked Vicarious a lot. =) I hope you enjoy all of your new books, Carole!

    Have a wonderful weekend. =)

  9. Great haul Carole! I've heard many things about Good in Bed so I hope you enjoy the book. And the cover of Max is absolutely droolworthy! Hope you would have more time to read this week!

  10. Great haul! I own Written in Red but I still need to read it! Really excited about it though! I hope you'll enjoy all the books you got! Happy reading!

  11. Those Audible sales. I look forward to them every time. I only downloaded a couple from the list, though. I hope you'll enjoy your books this week, Carole!
