Stacking the Shelves #63

Posted April 1, 2017 by Carole in Stacking the Shelves / 23 Comments

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews
I headed back to work this week after having been on vacation.  I have one of those jobs where the work stacks up and waits for me when I am gone which means this week wasn’t a lot of fun at the office.  I hurt my back on Sunday morning and have had a hard time getting around this week.  No fun but it is feeling better now.  I have been reading Etched in Bone most of the week and am loving it.

Digital Books

Once Upon a Summer Night by Nancy Scanlon (NetGalley) My Review
Kiss Marry Kill by Sidney Halston (NetGalley)
72 Hours by Bella Jewel (NetGalley)
It Happened on Love Street by Lia Riley (NetGalley)
Lethal Lies by Rebecca Zanetti (NetGalley)
Live Out Loud by Marie Meyer (NetGalley)
Walk of Shame by Lauren Layne (NetGalley)
Cream of the Crop by Alice Clayton (Kindle Purchase)
The 5 Greatest Warriors by Matthew Reilly (Kindle Purchase)
A Criminal Defense by William L. Myers, Jr. (Kindle First Pick)

So I went a little crazy clicking widgets this week.  What can I say?  All of the NetGalley books that I added this week are books that I am really excited about reading and hope to get to them within the next couple of weeks.  I have actually already read and reviewed one of them so I think I am off to an okay start.

Print Books

Bang by Barry Lyga (The Novl)

This book sounds absolutely amazing!  I cannot wait to read this and was really excited to get this package from the wonderful people at The Novl.

Stealing Mr. Right by Tamara Morgan (Won @ Books & Beauty Are My Bag)

I was really excited to learn that I won a copy of this book from Angie Elle @ Books & Beauty Are My Bag.   I like the idea behind this book – a jewel thief married to an FBI agent.  It sounds like a lot of fun doesn’t it?

  1. There are few things worse than a sore back as it just grinds you down all through your day. I'm glad you're feeling a bit better now. I think I've got four Matthew Reilly books waiting to be looked at. I'm hoping I might squeeze one in at the end of this month if time allows. I did my usual for purchases this week-UF, zombies, apocalypses…and a bassett hound!

  2. Yeah the week back after vacation is always the worst! Glad you're feeling better though! I am so behind in Anne's series! Really need to get caught up!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

  3. Sorry to hear about your back and the pile-up at work waiting for you.

Oh hey, great haul, though. I got the Rebecca Zanetti, too.

Hopefully this week will be better now that your work pile is down a bit.

  4. Ooh, Alice Clayton. Her books are always so fun. I added a ton of DRCs this week. Nothing for weeks from Edelweiss, I just thought they were going to let my request "time out", and then BOOM! 29 approvals. So, lots of awesome awaits me.

  5. Ohh I didn't know Barry Lyga has a new one coming out! Looking forward to reading your thoughts on that one.

    Happy reading, Carole!

  6. Not fun on going back to work or hurting your back. I hope you're feeling better now. Great selection of new books! I got the new Alice Clayton book and I'm super excited. I've been wanting to read her forever! Have a great week!

  7. aww I am so sorry to hear you hurt your back 🙁 I hope you feel better, that is never fun.
On the bright side you have some wonderful new reads and I am looking forward to what you think of them. I have lethal Lies as well, uber excited

  8. I'm sorry you hurt your back. Hopefully you can get some rest and it will heal even more, soon. Meanwhile, you have lots of fun books to read! Have a good week.

  9. Phew, look at you go! That's a lot of books! I like the look of the Scandalon one, and Alice Clayton's. I still haven't read an Alice Clayton book. o_o I hope you enjoy all of your new books – and I hope your back gets better!

Have a fabulous weekend, Carole. =)

    Check out my STS post!

  10. Wow! Look at all those new books! I can't wait to see what you think of the Sidney Halston book, Kiss Marry Kill. I've read and loved a bunch of her books, but didn't end up requesting this one because I'm playing catch up on my ARCs. lol! Sorry to hear about your back. Hope hope you feel 100% again soon!

  11. I am glad your back is feeling better, Carole, but am sorry you hurt it. And I feel for you about coming back to work after a vacation with it all stacked up waiting for you. Hopefully this next week will be better. Good news about Etched in Bone! I am looking forward to reading that one. Looks like you got some great books recently! I hope you enjoy them. 🙂

  12. Glad your back is feeling better. Ugh, but returning to a pile of work is no fun. You got some good looking books. I have 72 Hours too, hopefully I'll get to it soon. Have a great week!

  13. We both are still in The Others world with the Terra indigene. Haha
I'm reading book 2 and loving it. I'm planning to finish the series this week. Hopefully.
Anyway, 72 hours by Bella Jewel sounds great. I loved several of her books. I hope you enjoy it and all of the books you're planning on reading this week.
    Have a great week. 🙂
