Stacking the Shelves #87

Posted September 16, 2017 by Carole in Stacking the Shelves / 46 Comments

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality.

This week was way too busy for my tastes!  I have barely picked up a book and it is driving me absolutely nuts!  My daughter is one of the drum majors in her school’s marching band and this is competition week.  I think my life revolves around band some days.  The band competition is actually today so I probably won’t have too much time online.

I did get to watch Outlander on Sunday last week and it made me very, very happy.  I cannot wait for another episode this week.

Digital Books

Barking Up the Wrong Tree by Jenn McKinlay (NetGalley)
Love the One You’re With by Lauren Layne (Kindle Purchase)

I requested Barking Up the Wrong Tree the moment I saw it on NetGalley.  I was thrilled that my request was approved as quickly as it was and I am really looking forward to reading it.  I caught a Lauren Layne novel on sale for $0.99 and bought it since it is a part of a series that I haven’t read yet.

Audiobooks

Then Came You by Lisa Kleypas (Audible Purchase)
First Drop of Crimson by Jeaniene Frost (Audible Purchase)
I stocking up on audiobooks this year since I have a membership and access to all of the sales.  I love Lisa Kleypas and am looking forward to re-visiting Then Came You.  I also enjoy Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress World so I picked up First Drop of Crimson.  I will probably add a few more this weekend before the sale ends.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  1. It's always sad when you can squeeze in some reading time. Especially when you want to! Hope that this next week will allow you some page time!

And nice new reads! Some new to me ones except for First Drop of Crimson! Read that one a few years ago and loved it! But then I pretty much love anything Jeaniene writes!

    Happy Reading!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

  2. Nice haul! I really enjoy Jeaniene Frosts books as well! It's been a while since I read any of them, though. I need to change that! Have a great week and happy reading!

  3. I hope the band competition went well, today, Carole! I told myself I would walk while Mouse has her soccer practice during the week, but instead I plop down and spend the hour reading. I'm not complaining though. I enjoy being able to do that. She's not demanding I watch her every move anymore. LOL

It's been ages since I read a Jeaniene Frost book. I need to get back to her. Maybe even do some re-reading, it's been so long. Barking Up the Wrong Tree sounds cute. I hope you enjoy all of these, Carole! Have a great week!

  4. We both got some great books this week. Seems we end up requesting a lot of the same things. I know what you mean, I get cranky when I don't have time to read. Hope your next week slows down some.

  5. I always get a bit antsy when I can't get to my books, but hopefully things will slow down for you.

I have Barking Up the Wrong Tree, too.

    Have a Good Week!

  6. My mom would be so jealous to know you get to watch Outlander. It's not available in our country, and even if it was – she doesn't speak English. So she must wait for some TV station to pick the show up! She's now reading the books to make up for it.
Congrats on your new grabs 🙂 enjoy them and have a great week!

  7. My reading has slowed to a complete stop. I'm too tired to function and I can't get motivated to read. I hate this! Might be time for a blog break. My neighbour had two kids in two bands many years back and he was running around crazy with them too!

  8. I remember band days! Believe it or not there are times that I miss them – though I also like not spending my Fridays at high school football games. Great books this week. Both the Jenn McKinlay and the Lauren Layne are on my TBR and you can never go wrong with Kleypas! Have a great week!

  9. Good luck with the competitions. That's how I felt with my son's sports in high school. Hope you get some reading time. Ahhh I need to watch Outlander!
