This was a strange week. I developed a cough. A cough that has been pretty bad at times so I have been trying to stay away from everyone just to be safe. I am fairly certain that my cough is a result of allergies but I don’t want to take any chances. I don’t have any other symptoms so I don’t think I have COVID-19 but I am really tired of coughing at this point.
The only time I have left the house this week was to go to work early in the week and to walk the dogs. While we were taking the dogs on their morning walk yesterday, my dog broke my neighbor’s mailbox. I wouldn’t have thought such a thing was even possible but it did. My puppy heard a noise and jumped a bit, hooking her leash on a part of the mailbox which caused the mailbox support to break in half. So we took the dogs home and my husband went back to do a temporary fix on the mailbox and I guess we are buying the neighbor a mailbox. Thankfully, the neighbor took everything very well.
I feel like I should be getting more reading done than I am since I have been home so much but it is what it is. I am working to get caught up with Outlander and hope to finish watching The Witcher this week. My niece had a baby this week and while it will be a while before I get to see him, I can tell you that he is a very sweet and very loved baby boy.
I hope everyone has been staying safe out there!

It's a terrifying time to develop a cough. Also, do you feel as though you have the urge to cough more only when you are in public? Throat clearing has always been one of my tics, when I am anxious, and I try to stuff it down, when I am on that line for the market. Your dog has some massive strength. Glad your neighbor was a good sport about it. If I had planned better, I probably would have done more during this time away from work, but I honestly didn't think I would be home for this long. Hope you are feeling better and happy easter!
I feel like the only one who ever knows what day of the week it is! Lol. Always counting back down to Friday. I think I need to see if I earned any vacation days yet to give myself a nice long weekend. I could use a break. Any kind of cough or throat tickle at this point is worrisome. I hope yours is truly allergy related. Congrats to your niece! Glad the baby boy is healthy and safe! It seems even scary for babies during all this! Glad my sister is home with my baby nephew and older niece! Though I'm pretty sure they've all passed the point of stir crazy! Lol.
Nice new read! That's a new to me one! I hope you enjoy it!
Here's my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
Congratulations to your niece and sorry about the mailbox. My dogs broke tons of stuff, so a mailbox doesn’t surprise me. Have a great week!
Aj @ Read All The Things!
I am sorry to hear you developed a cough this week, that's scary in these times. Hopefully it's just allergies. Do you have any medicine that helps? I once got a medicine here that inhibited coughing a bit and that was a great relief when I had a bad cough.
That's too bad about the broken mailbox, I hadn't expected it be possible for that to happen either. That's nice your neighbor took it well and hopefully will be happy with the new mailbox.
I got a whole bunch of new books this week, some for review and a few I bought as well. I do seem to be reading a little bit more, but mostly about the same level as normal. Have a great week!
Congratulations to your niece! Some wonderful news in this frightening time. I'm sorry to hear about your cough and hope it's just allergies. Fingers crossed for you! Do rest up and take care of yourself.
Any minor symptoms send me into a tizzy even tho we haven't had any symptoms other than allergy sorts of things which aren't the same as COVID anyway. ooo another Kate Mary book!
Have a healthy, safe week! Happy Easter!

My allergies have really been hitting hard this week too! Easter definitely feels different this year without the large family gatherings, but I'm thankful we are all being safe.
I have been sneezing a lot and a little runny nose and congestion, no fever which is typical this time of the year, but I don't want to scare people over it so I haven't left the house at all except walks really early in the morning when no one is out. I've gotten some more spring cleaning done and did a bit better about reading from my review stack. We're having a nice easter so far and I'll be pulling the dinner out of the oven soon.
Ah man,no fun for the puppy breaking the mailbox. Who'd have thought?
Have a good week and hope you get over that cough, Carole.
I think everyone is hypersensitive to every little "symptom" these days. I know we are. But, like you, I think everything we experience lately is allergy-related. The pollen here is terrible. Thank goodness your neighbor was good about the mailbox. Crazy how that happened!
My daughter has asthma so she coughs a lot and it's scary for her. So I understand being scared of a cough. My allergies have been acting up too. I hope you feel better.
It's funny how you wouldn't think twice about a cough and now it's super scary! Hope you feel better. Who'd thought a puppy could break a mailbox? At least your neighbor isn't making a big deal. I'd like to check out the Witcher sometime. I guess you're liking it if you're almost done with the season. Take care, Carole! 🙂
Congratulations on the new addition to the family! Hopefully sometime in the not-too-distant-future you will get quality snuggle-time. I am definitely missing all my friends' babies who are my snuggle buddies.
Isn't it strange times, when a cough alone is something we must immediately take note of? I hope you get to feeling better soon!
Also, I totally thought the girl on the cover was Jessica Simpson at first.
The problem with this virus is that it has the same symptoms of every other virus plus things for IBS and depression. It feels impossible to tell if we have A virus or THE virus! It's frustrating and worrying. I always have a habit of clearing my throat but I'm trying not to do that in public!
I've got a cough too and I'm sure it's from all the pollen floating around right now. I get checked before I can enter my work place each day and so far I'm virus free. Congrats on the new member of your family!
It's never a fun time to be sick, from allergies or anything else, but at least you're able to stay at home and rest. I hope you feel better soon!
I laughed about your puppy breaking the neighbor's mailbox. What a strange thing to happen in a strange time. At least you can laugh about it now 🙂
Sounds like something one of my dogs would do! Glad the neighbor took it well. I do hope you feel better. Yes, it's horrible that COVID is coordinating with allergy season. Every time I have an allergy flare up, I always panic. Hope you feel better soon.
I hope your cough is just allergies. My allergies have been bad this season. Talk about bad timing. Congratulations on your new family member! That is some good news amidst the bad. I am still not reading very much. My computer is on its last legs so maybe that will help with my reading. LOL I do have a poetry book tour in early May I should probably at least prep for so when my computer does fail, I can borrow my husband's computer to just slip in the review. Talk about bad timing. I hope you have a good week, Carole. Stay safe and well.
I feel like I am the only one keeping track of the days because I have to for my classes. I feel like a lot of people have being freaking out when they get ill but I am glad that you know it is a cough and you don't have any other symptoms so you will probably get better and be okay. Take care of yourself <3
I hope it's just an allergy cough then!
The cough has hit hard here as well and I'm having the same thoughts as you. I know it's allergies but… What has me really stressed is that my 10 year old has it too. But no other symptoms so I'm sure it's not but…
Sorry to hear about the mailbox but glad the neighbor took in stride. I hope you have a great week with less coughing!
I started a cough last week and was a bit scared, but it was a tickle in the throat cough and I didn't have a fever. I too figured it was allergies, and it was because it became cold again, so we had to shut the windows and it went away. I breathed a sigh of relief! ?
I hope your week went well. I am behind in commenting. ?
