Stacking the Shelves #226

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality.

My Life

I cannot believe that another week is over.  This week we were able to pass the residency inspection for the home that we are selling.  The area that we live in is super picky when they do these inspections and the whole process is really quite the pain so I am glad that we are done with it.   Our new swing was also delivered and I like it just as much as I thought I would.
We have been looking for a new couch off and on since we started the moving process and have been having trouble finding anything that we want.  While we were at Costco buying some groceries yesterday, we found a couch that we both liked so we decided to get it.  I went to Costco for milk and ended up buying a couch!  Our old couch had a hole in it so it was definitely time for it to be replaced.  We bought a sectional which works with our space much better.

Today we are planning to close the pool at the old house and mow the yard one last time (I hope!).  We are about two weeks away from closing and I am more than ready for this process to be over.

What I’m Reading
I didn’t finish any books this week but I actually read more than I have been during the past few months.  I am just reading whatever sounds good to me at the moment.  I am still working my way through Betty by Tiffany McDaniel and enjoying it.  I was approved for The Dark Archive by Genevive Cogman and just couldn’t wait to get started with it.  I have been listening to Ink & Sigil by Kevin Hearne while I am working and am having a great time with it.

Books Added

The Dark Archive by Genevieve Cogman (NetGalley)

World Departed by Sarah Lyons Fleming (Audible Purchase)
The Last Mile by David Baldacci (Audible Purchase)
The Fix by David Baldacci (Audible Purchase)
Ink & Sigil by Kevin Hearne (eStories Purchase)
Burned by Benedict Jacka (Audible Purchase)
The Wicked King by Holly Black (Audible Purchase)
The Undead Pool by Kim Harrison (Audible Purchase)

What books do you add to your shelves this week?

  1. The end is near (I hope). Good luck with the closing, may it all go smoothly. Don't you love going to those stores that sell it all. You go for milk, come home with a couch (and hopefully milk too).

  2. Yay! Glad things are progressing with the closing of your old house! Glad things are going well with the new house! I remember seeing the picture of the swing and thought that looked really nice!

Nice new reads too! I soooo need to finish the Iron Druid series already so I can read this new spinoff type series! I loved the Iron Druid but started falling behind when there was the gap between books during the transition from paperback release to hardcover! So weird. Lol. Yay for Kim Harrison! I love her books! She's one author I somehow managed to stay up to date with! Lol.

Hope you enjoy all your new reads!

  3. I'm so excited for you to have the move completed and now the sale. You got some great new reads. I have been debating for awhile whether to purchase Baldacci books on audio but they have them at the library so I haven't been.

  4. Go ole Costco! Go in for milk and come out with a couch…lol. Hope your headache with all of this is about over! Enjoy those books!

Have a great week and happy reading!

  5. Haha, great you came back with milk and the couch you really liked all in one stop. Yay for the inspection going well. Nice haul of books. I want to try that new Kevin Hearne series.

    Have a good week, Carole!

  6. Congrats on the new couch! I think that’s one of the reasons we canceled our Costco membership. We went there to buy one thing and ended up spending money on a ton of other stuff. Have a great week!

  7. That sounds about right for Costco! Yay for finding a new couch. I know you'll be glad to done with the moving details. It takes forever it seems like. Hope you have a great week!

  8. It's great that you are getting through the house caper unscathed for the best part. I can imagine you on your swing on a warm summer night! I need to catch up with the Jacka series but the newest book is down as mass market paperback for the pre-order option instead of the bigger size like the rest of my series!
