Stacking the Shelves #234

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality.

My Life
This was a pretty good week.  Nothing too big or excited happened.  My mouth finally started feeling better about mid-week which was a big relief.  Unfortunately, my back decided to cause problems for a couple of days in the middle of the week and I never could figure out what that was all about.  Today, it looks like I am getting some kind of eye infection.  It feels like my body is rebelling against me or something…lol.
The virus is hitting my area really hard right now.  I live in St. Louis County and new restrictions start in just a couple of days.  They are limiting the number of people allowed in businesses and restaurants will not be able to have diners in for a meal.  I hope that these restrictions will be enough to slow things down.
When we moved into our new house, I didn’t even attempt to organize my books.  I told my family that they could just put them on the shelves however they wanted and I would deal with it later.  I have a lot of books and they are a disorganized mess!  I bought a new bookcase a couple of weeks ago and we finally got it put together this week so I am hoping that I can get things in some kind of order soon.
What I’m Reading
I finished two books again this week.  I finished the audiobook of Dreamweaver Trail by Emily March early in the week.  I enjoyed the book and really enjoyed the fact that I finally marked an older review book off of my tbr list.  I also finished The Burning Girls by C.J. Tudor which I ended up loving.

I spent a good part of the week listening to The Bright and Breaking Sea by Chloe Neill.  I have about an hour of the book left and hope to have my review posted in a couple of days.   I started reading The Siren and the Deep Blue Sea by Kerrelyn Sparks.  I am about halfway through the book right now and am excited to see where things are going.

Books Added

Loverboy by Sarina Bowen (Author/Publicist)

Lovers at Heart, Reimagined by Melissa Foster (Author/Publicist)

Down Comes the Night by Allison Saft (NetGalley)

The Project by Courtney Summers (NetGalley)
The Last Secret You’ll Ever Keep by Laurie Faria Stolarz (NetGalley)

  1. My goodness, you're dealing with one this after another. Back pain is the worst so I hope that's all better now. And the eye infection, too. I *love* organizing my books so I would be excited at the chance to "play books" and get them all in place. πŸ™‚ Lucky you to get an arc of Loverboy!

  2. Yeah, I hate that we have to go back to these restrictions again. I get it but I worry for all the smaller restaurants that might not be able to recover from this. I hope you feel better soon! Sounds like it's just one illness after another. Right now I have too many books for bookshelves so I still need to save up and buy new ones so that when I can find my own place I have enough room for all my books t be on shelves. That's the dream! Lol!

Nice new reads! I also scored Down comes the night and plan to read that one soonish, hopefully! Lol. I've about 4 books head of it including my current read which is beautifully massive!

    Happy Reading!

  3. Awww, I hope your back and eye are feeling better. Back pain is never a good thing. I am curious about the Stolarz book. I really enjoyed Jane Anonymous.

  4. Wow, as if moving wasn't enough! But the chaos and pain seem to be part of that whole experience. I don't envy the task of organizing the books, but with a new shelf, that will be more fun. Enjoy! I hope you feel better soon and that you can settle into your new space.

  5. Glad you had a good week aside from your body rebelling on you. Hope the restrictions help slow down the virus. Fun getting a new bookshelf and hopefully getting your books up and organized soon. Yay for finishing an older arc.

    Have a good week, Carole!

  6. I'm worried about the covid cases but we continue staying a home as we have since March. It will be fun to organize your books shelves. I did that again last year when we moved. I hope now with things calming down on the moving front, you will be able to just relax and read a bit. I am working on the Chloe Neill book and have liked it once I got started. I really enjoyed the Kerrelyn Sparks book and that whole series so much! Happy reading, stay well!

  7. Hope you get to feeling better! I sort of wanted to try and get The Project, but decided to wait on it because I have only read two from this author one from a long time ago and hated (can't remember the title) then I recently listened to Sadie and just thought it was okay. I do think The Project sound good so hope you like it and I can decide if I should put it on my wishlist. πŸ™‚

Have a great week and happy reading,

  8. I am sorry to hear about your health issues, Carole. I hope your eye issue clears up and doesn't turn into a full blown infection. And I hope your back is feeling better. My arm is finally starting to feel better, thank goodness. It's been impossible not to use it and I think it's taking so long to heal because I keep re-injuring it.

I am sorry to hear your COVID numbers are rising again. They are here too. I guess the governor is adding more restrictions–although not much will be changing for us in my county since we are already on the strictest tier. There's been talk of curfews, but who knows? There's so much pushback from so many . . . I really do get that businesses are hurting and people are losing their livelihood. But I also understand the need for caution and to get this virus under control. I wish there was an easy answer that would make everyone happy. πŸ™

Mouse and I have been doing a little bit of book organizing ourselves. Well, at least the weeding out part. It's past due we did that. I need to give my own books a good go through too.

I hope you continue to enjoy your books! Have a great week, Carole.

  9. Our Covid numbers are horrible here, too. I haven't looked to see about restrictions, yet, because I don't leave the house anyway. ?

I'm happy to hear you are basically settled in your new home. ???✨

  10. I know what you mean about aches, pains and misery right now! My back is playing up, my depression is giving me pelters…ugh. And of course Covid Fear. Please do all you can to stay safe over there. *hugs*
