Stacking the Shelves #238

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality.

My Life
This was a good week.  It was pretty calm which is just the way that I like it.  I did have one evening that I had a killer headache but that was just a minor speed bump.   I spent my evenings reading, working on the blog, and playing with my dogs.
How was your week?
What I’m Reading
I started the week out with a fun novella by Karen Grey, Like It’s 1999.  I finally finished Sucker Punch by Laurell K. Hamilton and found the book rather disappointing.  I then switched gears and listened to Days Since…: Jenny Day 986 by Robert Wilson.  I have actually read this book but promised a review of the audiobook so it was time for a re-read.  I have to admit that as soon as Blood Heir by Ilona Andrews made its way to my Kindle, I spent every free moment reading it and ended up loving it.

I am currently about 3 hours into Follow Me by Kathleen Barber and am enjoying it so far.  I just started reading The Garden of Promises and Lies by Paula Brackston and have high hopes for it since I enjoyed the first two books in the series.  I have read just a bit of The Particulars of Peter by Kelly Conaboy and am finding it rather amusing so far.

Books Added

Blood Heir by Ilona Andrews (NetGalley)

To Whatever End by Lindsey Frydman (NetGalley)
When Harry Met Minnie by Martha Teichner (Publisher)

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  1. Headache is somethin' we're all familiar with, unfortunately. ?‍♂️

Follow me looks interesting and very current, if I may add. ?

  2. So glad you enjoyed Blood Heir!!! I can't wait to read it but waiting in hopes my library will get an audio copy as that is how I listened to the Kate Daniels series and would like to continue. 🙂

Glad you had a great week and wishing you another one! Happy reading!

  3. I'm glad it was overall a good week. I have had Blood Heir about a week but am waiting until the 14th to read it since COYER goes from 2020 reads to 2021 reads then. So I get to start it tomorrow. Happy reading and I hope you have more uneventful weeks ahead.

  4. I am so happy you had such a good week. Headaches are the worst. Looks like some good books there, I am really curious about this new series by Andrews. I am loving the covers.

  5. Yay for a good week and enjoying your books. I don't blame you for jumping right into one you have been anticipating. I'm behind on my Ilona Andrews books.

    Have a good week, Carole!

  6. Yay for a good week and good reading! I'm sorry about the headaches. They're no fun. When we get home we are really limiting appointments and unnecessary errands for awhile but I've already decided my chiropractor is an exception! I'm so sick of neck related headaches. Hope you're having a great week!

  7. I'm tired and fed up that I still haven't finished all the tidying I need to get done. It's been an unproductive week and I'm frustrated with myself!
