Stacking the Shelves #240

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality.

My Life
This has been a busy week.  We spent last Sunday setting up the new bookshelves that we bought.  I am loving the way that the matching bookcases look in the room and the reading chair is wonderful.  I am a little tempted to change out the bookcases on the other side of the room but am not quite sure that I want to do it just yet.

Of course, there was also a little holiday to celebrate this week.  We ended up getting Christmas Eve off of work which was nice.  We had a tiny gathering at my mom’s house on Christmas Eve which was enjoyable.  Christmas Day was a quiet day at home reading books and watching movies.  I am really looking forward to another short week this week.
How was your week?
What I’m Reading
I finished listening to Total Surrender by Rebecca Zanetti and was really happy with how the series wrapped up.  I had a bit of time to sit down and read before the holiday and was able to finish reading The Lies You Told by Harriet Tyce and was really impressed.  On Christmas, I had a bit of time to sit down with my kindle and read The Monster MASH by Angie Fox and thought it was a whole lot of fun!

I was feeling a bit frazzled when it was time to start a new audiobook this week so I thought a re-read of Once Burned by Jeaniene Frost would be the perfect pick and I am about halfway done right now.  I also started reading To Whatever End by Lindsey Frydman and am finding the idea behind the book to be very interesting.

  1. The new bookcases look great, Carole! How great that you had off on Christmas Eve. That was a nice surprise. An audio reread is such a good idea. I just did that with Written in Red and it was just what I needed.

  2. Your reading chair looks so comfy. Nice. We got out two hours early on Christmas Eve, which worked out since my sister wanted dinner earlier than my normal stopping time. I can't wait to see what you think of Forever Girl and Holidaze. Both were huge hits for me.

  3. Oh nice! Loving the new library shelves! I'm *hoping* to buy myself a new set of bookcases in the new year…though with the repair work STILL going on outside our house and in our basement it might be even more delayed. Stuff is everywhere in our downstairs family room and in the area I planned to keep my new bookcases. So I need that stuff back to normal so I can fill it up! Lol! I was thinking 2 cases, but now I'm leaning towards 3! Just got to wait for the site I found to have a sale! Glad you had a nice holiday! I'm counting down the days until we can do our celebration! Fingers crossed for Tuesday!

Nice new reads too! Mostly new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!

  4. I love the reading room with its chair and shelves of books. I'm so happy you got some time to just relax and read this week, and have a short week ahead. In December, I've been reading more what I want with library books and things I own. It's been great. And I got a little ahead for 2021.

  5. The new bookcases look wonderful! You could just paint the others white to match up the new ones. We painted our wood bookcases white last season and I loved the way they turned out. Really freshened up our bedroom and made it look lighter. Glad to hear you had a nice Christmas and some time to relax. Have a lovely week, Carole! 🙂

  6. Sounds like you had a nice Christmas. And I love your pics! Looks like a cozy little reading spot. Looks great! Hope you have a wonderful New Year. 🙂

The Afterlife of the Party looks fun!
