This week’s neglected book

The Christmas Keeper by Jenn McKinlay
Publication Date: October 29, 2019
Publisher: Berkley Books

All he wants for Christmas…

The second Joaquin Solis saw Savannah Wilson, he knew she was destined to be his wife. Unfortunately, Savannah’s sights are set on a happily-ever-after of another kind: skewering the boss who got her fired. Until then, she won’t act on the scorching sexual chemistry that is brewing between them, leaving Joaquin scrambling to find a way to capture her heart.

When the opportunity arises to use his ranch to boost Savannah’s publicity career, Joaquin doesn’t hesitate to invite her into his world at Shadow Pines and woo her with all of his Christmas loving mojo. It’s a gamble since the holidays aren’t really Savannah’s thing and helping her might also mean losing her as she plans to shake the dust off of their quaint town in North Carolina and head back to New York City the first chance she gets.

But Joaquin believes in the magic of Christmas and he knows with a little help from his friends at the Happily Ever After Bookstore, he can convince the woman of his dreams that he’s a keeper…

Why did I add The Christmas Keeper to my bookshelf?

I bought this book last year because I really have enjoyed Jenn McKinlay’s contemporary romances.  I didn’t request an ARC because I wasn’t sure when I would be able to get to it.  Unfortunately, this means that this book is hanging out on my shelves with other books that I consider a lower priority than books I have an obligation to review.  I really need to work on working the books that I buy into my reading schedule.

What are your thoughts? Have you read this book?  Would you recommend it to others?

  1. It sounds like a great book and I like ones set in NC because I live here. I did a personal goal to read 3 books I own each month. I also do the Thrifty Thursday feature to keep me working at the freebies. Since I also read ARCS first, otherwise I don't read them. Somehow library books also get read because they have due dates. I read a LOT of books and still don't get to all the ones I want to read though.

  2. I have been reading more form McKinlay after reading Paris is Always a Good Idea. I don't really read cowboy books, but I have enjoyed a few of her other books, and I adored Paris.
