I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.

My Life

This was a pretty normal week. We had another day of sleet, ice, and snow so I was able to work from home on Thursday. I had hoped to get a lot of reading done that day but my eyes had other ideas. I was able to listen to audiobooks while I gave my eyes a break so all was not lost. My niece and nephew are coming over to our house for a sleepover tonight. My sister says that they are excited so I do hope that they have fun with us.

How was your week?

What I’m Reading

I finished 5 books this week. I enjoyed If You Want to Make God Laugh by Bianca Marais and thought that the three narrators did a great job with the audiobook. I liked the action in Hideout by Louisa Luna but missed Cap and Vega working as a team for most of the book. A Nightmare on Elk Street by C.T. Phillps and Michael Suttkus was a fun story full of puns and pop culture. Sundial by Catriona Ward was the twisty horror read that I had hoped it would be. Jump Cut by Libby Fischer Hellmann was a very enjoyable mystery thriller.

I have only read a little of Crowbones by Anne Bishop but am very excited to see where things are going in the story.

Books Added

Eclipse the Moon by Jessie Mihalik (NetGalley)

Glad your week was pretty tame! I’m grateful to be working from home during all these ice messes we keep having. Driving in that down 40 would not be fun!

Nice new read! I enjoyed the first one to this series and am hoping the publisher allows me to review this one as well! Fingers crossed!

    Hereโ€™s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

  2. We had a bit of ice and sleet in Texas this week too. The Houston Rodeo starts this week which is basically like a giant city fair that will last most of the month. I volunteer on one of the committees, so it will be a busy few weeks.

  3. Oh, the new The Others book! Lucky you. I have Hideout to read this week, and I’ve read 2 of Bianca Marais’s books including that one. I enjoyed it too. Have a good week, and have fun with your relatives!

  4. I have gotten to Hideout yet but that is a bummer that there is not as much Vega and Mac but I can’t wait to get too it!

  5. Yay for a quiet week and a stay at home work day. Hope the sleepover goes well. Wow, five finished this week! I loved Crowbones so I can’t wait to see what you think. ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Nice that you got to work from home with the bad weather. I wouldn’t want to drive on ice or in snow! Audiobooks are great when your eyes are having trouble.

I love the Alice Vega series, but bummed to hear they weren’t working together for most of the book. I like them as a team. I can’t remember if they actually got together the last book, but I know I’m hoping they do.

I need to try Kim Harrison.

  7. hope you had a great time with family and thanks for sharing some great looking books. i do not miss the winter weather, but i’m glad you managed to enjoy your snow day. ๐Ÿ™‚
