I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.

My Life

Life seems to keep speeding by. Last Sunday was my youngest daughter’s birthday. My baby is officially 22. Where does the time go?! We met at a local restaurant with family to celebrate and I think she had a good day.

I worked hard during the work week to make sure my daughter had everything she needed for school. On Friday, we loaded up her car and our SUV and got her moved back into her college apartment. This will be her last semester living on campus before earning her Bachelor’s degree. Spring semester she will be living at home while student teaching before graduating in May. There is a good chance she will be continuing on to get her Master’s so I think her college journey is far from over.

My older daughter’s wedding dress came in. On Saturday, we went to get it fitted and see what alterations are needed. They should have it ready in a couple of weeks and I can wait to see it on her in its finished state. The wedding is just about a month away so things are going to start getting intense very soon!

How was your week?

What I’m Reading

I finished 4 books again this week. Overkill by Sandra Brown was an excellent book that kept me glued to the pages. I continued my read of The Hollows series with The Undead Pool by Kim Harrison this month and am kicking myself for waiting so long to read these books! I was quickly swept away by Ruby Fever by Ilona Andrews and loved every moment of the story. Winter Igniting by Rebecca Zanetti was an excellent addition to the Scorpius Series and I am going to be kind of sad when I wrap up the series next month.

I just started reading Dead Flip by Sara Farizan but it is a short book so I hope to finish it before I have to go to work on Monday. I am also reading Other Birds by Sarah Addison Allen. I have loved her work in the past and hope that this will be a similar experience.

Books Added

Murder at Haven’s Rock by Kelley Armstrong (Publisher); The Sunbearer Trials by Aiden Thomas (Publisher); Court of the Vampire Queen by Katee Robert (Publisher – Unsolicited)

  1. Oh nice! Glad everything is going smoothly for the wedding! Can’t believe it’s coming up so soon! Seems like you were just saying yesterday how she was getting married! Congrats for your youngest as well with college! That’s got to be exciting too!

  2. That’s really wonderful that your daughter could get a placement near home for her student teaching. A really money saver. I am reading Other Birds this week. The review are good. I hope we both love it.

  3. That is SO exciting that you have the wedding coming so close, time flies by!!! I am happy to hear that it seems like everything is coming together. Lots of great books to look forward though. I think ALL romance readers are super excited for Ruby Fever.

  4. Wow you have a lot going on! We’re moving my daughter back to college in a week, too. Fun. 🙂

Addison Allen’s book and the Robert book both ook fun. Hope you have a nice week.

  5. Enjoy this time with your daughters as it will go fast! Give yourself a moment to breathe now and then with all the activities over the next month. Of course, the releases on August 23 are HUGE. I feel a little overwhelmed this month but I’m hanging in there, and I want to read them.

  6. Yes, you did have a busy week. Neat that she gets to live at home for her student teaching experience and yay for the wedding dress coming in for older daughter. Way to go getting through four books this week, all things considered. I hope to get picked for the Kelley Armstrong, too.

    Have a good week, Carole!

  7. Yay for the wedding dress coming in! And that’s great that your daughter’s student teaching is close to home. My daughter ended up with an hour long commute and it was a rough semester for her! I hope you’re having a wonderful week!
