I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.
My Life
This was a pretty normal week. The only real speed bump was on Wednesday night when I reached into the washing machine to move the clothes to the dryer. I went to grab what I thought was a sock but it turned out to be a DEAD MOUSE. My husband and I spent the rest of the night looking for any evidence of mice in the house and came up with nothing. We set some traps but it seems to be an isolated event. I may never look at laundry the same though.
Today is my mother’s birthday and we are heading to her house today to celebrate with her. It sounds like we are going to be getting some cold weather this week so I hope to spend time curled up with a book under a blanket.
How was your week?
What I’m Reading
I started the week out with Eat What You Kill by Ted Scofield and thought it was just okay. I decided to grab the audiobook of Five Floors Up by Brian McDonald and actually shed a few tears. Built to Last by Erin Hahn was just as much fun as I had hoped it would be. I had a fantastic time with Crimson Frost by Jennifer Estep and it was my favorite in the series so far.

I am halfway through Under a Wicked Moon by Zoe Forward and am enjoying it. I have listened to around 25% of The Last Graduate by Naomi Novik and am curious to see where the story is going.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?

OMG, Carole! I think I would have passed out on the spot. I read Built to Last this past week, and I agree, SO much fun. I hope she has more adult stories in her.
I’m sorry, I’m still screaming over the fact that you found a dead mouse in your laundry! That’s the stuff of nightmares! Lol. I was having my own issues thinking I might have bed bugs when I woke up the other day to a string of rashes on my leg that looked like bug bites. I examined my sheets and mattress to no avail. Saw none of the evidence that suggested said bed bugs but I washed all my sheets and sprayed my mattress down with bug spray anyway. I can’t imagine finding a mouse while harmlessly doing laundry though. I’m going to be afraid to do my laundry now! Lol.
Wow! Nice new reads! Lots of new to me ones too! Curious about Sign Here! That sounds entertaining! I still need to read Rachel’s Ex Hex book myself. I finally bought a copy…some weeks or months ago, just haven’t gotten to it yet!
Hope you enjoy all of your lovely new reads!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
You would have been able to hear me at your house if that happened to me. Eeeek! I am not a fan of rodents. I wish you another normal week. The blankets and books sound excellent.

oh man, I can’t stand mice in the home. I would lay the traps out for a few weeks just to make sure. But hope its just the one. A couple of years ago, we had a baby mama mouse come in and have lots of babies so it took a while to get rid of them all. Happy Birthday to your mama! I am glad you are liking that Zoe Forward book, I read the first book in the series and enjoyed it. Glad that the Jennifer Estep was such a hit!
Yep, that would have headlined my week, too. Eep! I have a mouse incident every few years, it seems. My husband got the hollow area under the porch filled in and that seemed to take care of it in the last few years.
Too bad the first read was only so-so, but glad the rest were good ones for you. I have finished off my previous pile and am now able to get to my spooky reading stack.
Have a good week, Carole!
How did a mouse get in to the washer machine? I used to have chickens and they took care of the rodents.
Hope you get rid of those rodents and have a great week.
Omg nasty!!!!!!!!! I would have been so freaked out
OMG I just full-on cringed over the dead mouse. I would have wanted to soak my hand in bleach. Gah! So jealous of your cooler temps. It’s 83 here today. Womp womp.
I think I’d still be curled up in a ball if I had grabbed a dead mouse – though better dead than alive I guess! I hope the rest of the week was much calmer and you got lots of blanket and book time!
