The New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of Neon Gods brings the heat in this sizzling tale of a vampire queen and her three consorts
All Mina ever wanted was to escape her father's control. Half human, half vampire, she lived eternally torn between two worlds, never fully experiencing the pleasures of either—until her father chose her as the pawn in his latest political move, gifting her to the darkly powerful and dangerously seductive Malachi Zion.
Malachi is not a vampire to be trifled with. He rules with an iron fist and has a reputation for the darkest of sins. But the longer Mina spends with him, the more she realizes he's not the monster she first thought—and as fear slowly bleeds into lust, then trust, then something more, Malachi opens Mina up to a world she never knew could be hers for the taking: including the love of Malachi's two closest friends and companions.
Now surrounded by all three men, the center of their darkly seductive world, Mina may finally have the power to face down her father and take back the life—and crown—that by all rights should be hers.
If you needed any proof that I will read just about any genre, I would submit this review as evidence to support that fact. I think that it is pretty well known that I am a rather eclectic reader but there are a few genres that I don’t read all that often. This book is not my normal kind of read but I decided to try it nonetheless. And you know what…I liked it!
Mina is sent to Malachi by her father to be used however he wishes. I liked watching Mina and Malachi warm up to each other and when Wolf, then Rylan enter the scene things get turned up another notch. It was great watching them work together to try to outsmart Mina’s father. I did feel like the group had an emotional bond in addition to the off-the-charts chemistry. This is definitely a spicier read. To put it plainly, there is a lot of sex in this book. Even more, than you are thinking. But you know what…it is well written and I thought that the sex helped to advance the plot so I think it works. I liked the story overall.
This isn’t a book that will work for everyone but if reverse harem vampire smut sounds like your kind of thing then you should definitely give it a try. I wouldn’t hesitate to try more of this author’s work in the future.
I received a review copy of this book from Sourcebooks Casablanca.
I heard a lot about this author.
I am glad that I finally gave her a try!
Reverse harem vampire smut… now there’s a super specific sub-genre. LOL
Exactly!
I received this one from the publisher a while back and liked it too.
I was a bit surprised by just how much I liked it!
Great review you have of this one. I am glad that you enjoyed this one. I can see why this one would appeal to reverse harem romances. Unfortunately, I don’t do RH but I know they are super popular and well loved.
I don’t usually read a lot of reverse harem books either but I ended up liking this one.
Wowza, that does sound like hot stuff. I read a few BDSM romance books by her years ago and they were pretty good.
I really enjoyed her writing!
Admittedly, this is outside my usual wheelhouse, but it does sound tempting and, if you liked it, I might have to too!
It’s not something I would have usually picked up but it worked out in the end.
Definitely not a genre I have a lot of experience with and wow does it have a lot going on! This does sound entertaining. I always surprise myself when I read outside of comfort zone. More often than not I end up really enjoying the read!
I am always looking for something different and this book definitely fit that definition.
I’m glad you liked this one. I’ve read a Katee Robert book a while back and enjoyed it. I’m not sure this one would be for me though.
I would definitely read more of her work!
