I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.
My Life
I started the week out exhausted. I worked both Saturday and Sunday last weekend and basically passed out on the couch by the time I got home Sunday. I am realizing that I can’t do everything that I want to do over the course of a week. Working, taking care of things at home, reading books, writing reviews, posting reviews at retailers, taking photos for Instagram, and visiting other blogs is just more than I can fit in the week. I am trying though. This week I failed at reading books and visiting blogs. I am going to keep trying to make things work.
This weekend I was off on Saturday and Sunday from the bookstore and it was wonderful. We slept a little later than usual and went out to breakfast on Saturday. After breakfast, we did our weekly grocery shopping. Saturday evening, we celebrated my mom’s birthday with family. I look forward to spending a quiet day at home today working on getting ahead of a few things on the computer and maybe doing some reading.
How was your week?
What I’m Reading
I read 4 books this week and it should be no surprise that they were all audiobooks. I started out with The Dead Take the A Train by Cassandra Khaw & Richard Kadrey which was a rather unique tale. I decided to change things up and picked up Bookshops & Bonedust by Travis Baldree next which was a wonderful cozy fantasy. I would have never guessed how exciting chess could be until I read Check & Mate by Ali Hazelwood which I found to be very well-done. I ended the week with Time to Shine by Rachel Reid which was a fantastic M/M hockey romance.

I don’t think that I even picked up Becoming the Boogeyman by Richard Chizmar this week but that is only because there just wasn’t any time. I can’t wait to get back to it.

Books Added

Deep Freeze by Michael C. Grumley (Publisher); The Puzzle Master by Danielle Trussoni (Publisher); Red River Seven by A.J. Ryan (Publisher)

What books do you add to your shelves this week?

I am glad you had this weekend to recharge your batteries. Hope you enjoyed the day off today as well.
Working all week and then all weekend sounds exhausting. Definitely not something that can be maintained. Thank goodness you had this weekend off. Sleeping in and breakfast out sounds like a good way to recharge a bit. I hope today is a relaxing one. Time to Shine sounds like a good one!
Sounds like it was stressful last week, but glad to hear you had this weekend off! That’s always nice! I think I would need at least one weekend day off in order to work part time and full time. Especially since there are busy seasons at both places! Hope you have a calmer week ahead!
Nice new reads! Those are all totally new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!
Here’s my StS

Sometimes when you are busy you just get more accomplished and sometimes it is just exhausting. It would be great if you could work just one day each weekend. I hope this week they don’t have you on multiple nights instead. How far ahead do you get your schedule? Enjoy this weekend and relax.

Your life is so busy, Carole! I can understand feeling overwhelmed! I hope you’re able to get some rest and not feel so much pressure. It’s a lot. Nice to hear you had the weekend off! Audiobooks for the win! 🙂
So glad you got a weekend off! I imagine it will take quite awhile to get everything re-balanced now that you’ve added the bookstore job. I hope you have a great week and take some time for yourself!
