I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.

My Life

This was a pretty normal week. I visited my mom last Sunday and spent the rest of the week working both jobs. We did get some rain this week which was fine until it decided to start raining in the middle of our dog walk. My husband and I got soaked and we got to enjoy the smell of wet dog (x3) for a while.

I decided to start working on a puzzle on Wednesday and put the last few pieces in on Friday. I really do love puzzles and am going to start trying to do one every week.

How was your week?

What I’m Reading

My audiobook game was strong this week which helped me finish 7 books this week. I started the week out with Hunt on Dark Waters by Katee Robert which I really enjoyed. When I’m Dead by Hannah Morrissey was a fantastic mystery. I liked Becoming the Boogeyman by Richard Chizmar just as much as I liked the first book in the series. The September House by Carissa Orlando was a wonderfully surprising haunted house story that felt like a perfect read for the spooky season. I decided to pick up The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon by Stephen King because it was one of King’s shorter books and it ended up being a fantastic read. Witness in Death by J.D. Robb was a wonderful addition to the series. Ripe by Sarah Rose Etter was a rather depressing but well-written story.

I have read about 20% of To Kill a Shadow by Katherine Quinn and am loving it so far.

Books Added

When a Dragon Falls by Kerrelyn Sparks (Publisher); Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez (Publisher); The Invocations by Krystal Sutherland (Publisher)

West Heart Kill by Dann McDorman (Publisher); Everyone on This Train Is a Suspect by Benjamin Stevenson (Publisher)

  1. Sounds like a good week overall! Glad things weren’t too crazy!

Ooh The Invocations is one I’ve been looking forward to for awhile now! The release date changed this year to next, so it’s been awhile! Then I saw Main Street Books just announced that Krystal was coming to the library in February, so I’m super excited now! Hope you enjoy all of your new reads!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

  2. Ah man, wet dog is a miserable scent when you’re wet, too. 🙂 Wow, way to go plowing through seven audios last week. I might get to the Sept House some day.

Have a good week, Carole, and Happy Halloween!

  3. We’ve had the same experience with rain. It was no fun. I was also able to get The Invocations and I’m thrilled. Not a lot of reading this week with the new puppy, but that it to be expected. Have a great week!

  4. Lulu absolutely hates the rain. She tolerates going out in her raincoat and sometimes boots but makes it clear she is not happy. It sounds like you are getting into a routine which is working ok and getting in some reading. Happy Halloween!

  5. Wet dog times three – good times. I haven’t done a jigsaw in a long time, but they are relaxing for me. Glad to hear you are enjoying your puzzle time. I am so jealous you have the new Jimenez. I cannot get approved for her books any longer. She got too popular. I am sure it will be amazing.

  6. We had three amazing days and now the weather is more normal. It’s been raining for two days and I’m ready to get outside and walk. Hopefully tomorrow!

  7. I do love a sudden rainstorm while walking the dog. It doesn’t happen very often but when it does I’m as far from my house as I could possibly be. JD Robb is an author I really want to read. I love Nora Roberts’ books but somehow have never made the hop over to her author series even though I own several books. I hope you’ve had a great week!
