My Life
This was a pretty good week. I was able to manage work and some reading but fell behind with my blog, Instagram, and trying to visit other blogs. I had to get up extra early on Tuesday to get some bloodwork done before heading to work. When I got to the office, I told my co-workers that it looked like some power lines were down near our building and a few minutes later we lost power. I was told to pack up a few things and work from home that day. When I went back to the office on Wednesday, the power was back on but 3 of our overhead lights were not working. Of course, it was my area that was affected and I worked with my office half-lit that day which was hard on my old eyes.
I didn’t have a lot of time in the evenings because of my work schedule. The work week at the bookstore runs Sunday through Saturday and this week I worked Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. On Wednesday night, I was basically worthless and accomplished nothing after getting home from my day job. I guess I needed a break. Good thing that I spent Sunday prepping most of the week’s posts!
On Saturday, we met with family to celebrate my daughter’s 29th birthday! I am still not sure how I could possibly have a 29-year-old but it was nice to be able to celebrate with her.

What I’m Reading
I finished 4 books again this week. I started the week out with The Fury by Alex Michaelides. This is the first time I have read this author’s work and liked this one a lot. I have heard good things about Gothikana by RuNyx and decided to grab the audio and had a hard time putting it down. Every book that I picked up to read with my eyes wasn’t holding my attention until I gave The Bookbinder’s Guide to Love by Katherine Garbera a try. I found it to be an entertaining romance with very likable characters. I ended the week with Deep Freeze by Michael C. Grumley and loved the twists and turns of the story.
I started Winter Lost by Patricia Briggs just as soon as I had the chance to sit down after downloading the book to my device. I have a lot of books that I should probably read before this one but I just can’t wait.

I have a hold for The Bookbinder’s Guide to Love , so I am glad to hear that one was good for you. My daughter will be 29 in Feb. I didn’t realize our girls were the same age. Look at that. You acquired so many good books. I had set When Grumpy Met Sunshine aside. Could have been my mood, but I plan to pick it up again. I have some book envy seeing you have Joyce’s new book. Looks like new covers for Lia Riley’s series. I read that one a few years ago. Hope you enjoy all your new books, that work doesn’t work you, and that your bloodwork comes back ok.
Wow. What a week! Working from home had to be a little nice at least what with the weather. I hate traveling in it when it does stuff like this! Glad you got to celebrate your daughter’s birthday too and that you got some reading in! Blogging and all the other stuff can wait! Lol.
Nice new reads too! Quite a few and they are all totally new to me one! I recognize Patricia Briggs’ book at least! Hope you enjoy them all once you get to read them!

Great week you have had there. I love seeing that you are enjoying “gothikana” and I just loved that one. It was super atmospheric.
I keep seeing The Fury pop up everywhere, but it hasn’t made it to my TBR. I hope it’s a winner for you!
I can’t wait to read The Gathering. I loved the author’s last book so much. Good thing you rested some on Wednesday. I find with the cold weather, the dogs in and out (especially puppy) and not sleeping well I’m feeling rundown. Also, the correctional facility where my husband is a counselor is overrun with Covid so I’m just crossing my fingers and praying he escapes it. We have our most recent boosters but with that virus, who knows! Hope you have a wonderful week.
