April & May 2024 Wrap-Up

April & May 2024

It should be no surprise to anyone that I struggled during the months of April and May.  I am still struggling if I am being honest.   I feel like I am behind in every aspect of my life.  I work a lot which leaves little time for me to dedicate to other things in my life.  Just getting a review or a post completed takes up a good chunk of the few evenings that I am home.  I am getting through audiobooks but I tend to fall asleep when I try to sit down to read with my eyes.

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate all of you who have stuck with me.  I owe each and every one of you so much.  I am trying to do better.

I think that the little voice inside of me screaming for a break is one of the reasons we booked a trip to Hawaii in July.  That was probably the most exciting thing that happened during the past 2 months.  I am counting down the days until I can dip my toes in the ocean and have 10 days in a row where nobody expects me to do anything.

I am open to any and all tips on managing my time better (because I obviously need some help).

  1. I’m so glad you’re getting a break from life next month. Hawaii is the answer to whatever ails you. It’s one of my favorite places in all the world. Hang in there until then!

  2. I think you are doing amazing. It’s all about choices. But I’m thrilled you are going to have a break. Hawaii is so beautiful. I had the same problem in May with being asleep and unable to read ebooks at night because I was doing so many projects and was so active. Now I need to figure out how to be active and yet read at bedtime.

  3. I am so glad you are getting away next month, Carole! You need a good rest. Hawaii is beautiful. You read so many awesome books the past couple months! I wish I had some good ideas on how to manage your time better. You’re busier than me, I think, and I haven’t figured out how to balance my own life. There’s just never enough time to do all we want and have to do. I hope you have a great month of June, Carole.

  4. I honestly don’t know how you’re managing the two jobs, Carole. I would be running on fumes every day. It sounds like the Hawaii trip can’t come soon enough!

  5. You are too hard on yourself. You are operating at superwoman levels right now. I am so excited for your trip. It’s well deserved.

  6. Ooh, Hawaii! I hope you have a great trip and really enjoy the time to relax without expectations on your shoulders.

  7. You have a lot of on your plate and I’m not suprised you’re feeling overwhelmed at times. The only thing I can tell you is listen to your body and get all the rest you need. Also I’m a big fan of scheduling and timers – I’ll even set a time to take a 20 minute break in the middle of the day which is so helpful for me. I have Funny Story on my TBR and am hoping to get to it soon. Have a great week!
