September & October 2024 Wrap-Up

September & October 2024

It has been a busy couple of months. In September, the suite next door to my full-time job’s office caught on fire. We are still dealing with the aftermath, and I have learned more about fire remediation than I ever wanted to know. Four days after the fire, my mother’s sewer backed up into her basement. Most of her repairs have been completed, but she still needs to replace some flooring.

I had 12 days in October without a day off that I hope not to repeat anytime soon.  I am old and need at least one day to myself every week.  My 2 daughters, along with their significant others, came home to attend a family wedding.  It was great to see everyone but it was a very busy weekend for everyone involved.

  1. I am one to schedule a day off when we have no holidays in a month. I could never do twelve days straight. EEK! Hope November is kind to you.

  2. WOW! that’s a lot for the past two months! I hope everyone is safe, okay, and repairs are going smoothly. And I hope you get more time off in November. Seems like with the holidays, I always end up with extra days off. Not much going on here – been back from the trip for a month, but it feels like only a week has gone by. My son turned 21 and both kids were home from college in October.

  3. You got an amazing amount of reading done in the last two months and that’s without even taking into account how busy you are! I hope November is a peaceful month for you.
