July & August 2024 Wrap-Up

July & August 2024

July and August were both very busy months.  The highlight of July was our trip to Hawaii!  We left St. Louis on July 22nd and made it back home on August 2nd.  Leading up to the trip we spent a lot of time trying to get things done so that we felt okay leaving for almost 2 weeks.  We had a great time and hope to take more big trips now that our nest is empty.

August was spent trying to get caught up from being away from home for so long.  Most of my work just sat on my desk and I am still catching up.  I started working at my local library on Fridays and Saturdays this month.  I like the job and the schedule is very doable.  I have a lot to learn but felt a lot more competent by the end of the month.

I am shocked that I read as much as I did during these two months. An unplanned re-read of Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress series helped boost those numbers in July. These days, I read almost entirely via audiobook but I hope to start incorporating more print and digital reads.

  1. So glad you are reading well and comfortable with the new routine. I hope you can do some reading or re-reading with the Read-along one year. Next year will be Ilona Andrews the Edge and Innkeeper. But I know sometimes you just get into a reading and want to do it now.

  2. Considering you were away and pretty busy, you did read a lot. Good job! Trips are nice. I save all year so I can go on a good one.

  3. I’m so glad your Hawaii trip went well. It looked so fun! I can’t wait to see where you go next. The library job sounds much more doable than the bookstore job. I hope you have a great September!
