I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.
My Life
This was a good week overall. It was nice to have Monday off from work. My husband and I stayed home to take care of some chores around the house and gave the dogs all the attention that they feel they deserve. I spent the rest of the week working, writing reviews, and trying to stay on top of things at home. I did make a quick run to Target to pick up a few pretty books that I didn’t feel like I could live without 🙂 (I think we all know that I have enough books to keep me entertained for the remainder of my life.)
How was your week?
What I’m Reading
I finished 5 books this week – two were short but I will take it! I’ll Be Waiting by Kelley Armstrong was very entertaining. I am amazed by how she can write so many genres as well as she does. Haunt Sweet Home by Sarah Pinsker was very good. The cast of narrators did a great job bringing this ghost story to life. The Coldest Case: The Past Has a Long Memory by James Patterson felt like listening to a television show and proved to be a nice way to get through an afternoon at work. I enjoyed So Thirsty by Rachel Harrison and thought it was a fun vampire story. I finally sat down and spent some time reading Fire and Bones by Kathy Reichs which was filled with enough twists and turns to keep the pages turning.
I am not even sure what originally drew me to A Good Bad Boy by Margaret Wappler but I have enjoyed the portion of the book that I have read so far. I listened to a big chunk of The Hexologists by Josiah Bancroft and realized that I was hopelessly lost. I will give it another go while working a puzzle – some audiobooks just don’t work for me on the job. I knew I could handle a romance while working, so I started The Summer Escape by Jill Shalvis and am enjoying it.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Glad you had a nice normal week! I’m excited for Kelley’s next supernatural thriller! I seem to do well with her standalones but her series I am forever behind in! Lol. In one of B&N’s last preorder sales I decided to go for Abigail’s new one! Love her YA trilogy in which I am still waiting on its conclusion. Hopefully it releases still in November, but I feel like promo for it has been low so I’m a bit worried as its release date has changed at least twice already!
Hope you enjoy all the fantastic new reads!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
Glad you were able to enjoy a day off. Poor neglected dogs….NOT! You spoil them. Shalvis always hits the spot for me. Glad you are enjoying her latest.
I enjoy the Kathy Reichs books but I’m behind a few. It’s nice you read a variety of genres so you can enjoy all the Kelley Armstrong works; she really is a talent. I hope the new routine is working for you!
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Monday off last week was SO nice. Though I spent mine making applesauce, which isn’t super relaxing, but nice to have done for the year. Hope this week is a good one for you. 😀
I’m sure the ogs appreciated the extra time with you and the attention.
Glad to hear you enjoyed the extra day off. It was nice! I’m sure your dogs were happy for you to be home and get all the attention. I have I’ll Be Waiting, too, so I’m happy to hear you enjoyed it! I’m curious about So Thirsty. I haven’t read my by Rachel Harrison. Just listened to the first couple of alien type short stories. I think First Contact was the name of one. They were okay, but didn’t knock my socks off. I feel like I need to try something else by her because a lot of readers love her. Enjoy your new additions and have a wonderful week, Carole!
It was so nice getting 2 days off in a row! I think that you might be confusing Kim Harrison and Rachel Harrison. Kim Harrison wrote the alien short stories but the Hollows series featuring the main characters Rachel Morgan. Rachel Harrison wrote So Thirsty and my favorite of her books is Cackle.
We always need more books! So glad you had a calmer week and hopefully this week has been the same. I need to finish the Casey Duncan series so I can start that Kelley Armstrong series. It looks fantastic. I hope you’re havinga wonderful week!
I need to check out that Kelley Armstrong book!
