November 2024 Wrap-Up

November 2024

November was an eventful month.  I worked from home for a week and a half, dealt with a flooded basement, interviewed for a full-time position, got the job, and gave my notice at my current job.  These changes took a lot of energy and created a bit of stress.

We celebrated Thanksgiving twice. We celebrated with my husband’s family at our house. We provided the space, drinks, plates, and cutlery, and everyone else brought the food, which worked well for me. On Thanksgiving day, we celebrated with a smaller crowd at my mom’s.

I accomplished a decent amount of reading during the month.  I don’t know what I would do without audiobooks.  Now that I work at the library, NetGalley approvals are coming at a rapid pace.  I am now auto-approved for 17 publishers, which is great but maybe a little too tempting…lol.

  1. Well that’s an exciting upside to the library job. I am excited about the small number of auto approvals I have. Some I don’t have auto approval but they send widgets for almost everything and approve all my requests. I certainly don’t lack for things to read. Audiobooks are a key way to fit in more reading.

  2. So many great things are happening for you! Congratulations on the job. I couldn’t imagine being auto approved for that many pubs (I think I am for 4, none that big). If it was Berkley, I would be in trouble. I read a ton of their books.

  3. Looks like a great month! I like how you did the split – you provided the space they provided the food. And I love the reading. I’m really looking forward to reading the Hazel Gaynor. Have a happy December!
