Weekly Wrap Up #438

Posted December 1, 2024 by Carole in Stacking the Shelves / 7 Comments

I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.

My Life

Happy Thanksgiving to all those who celebrated this week! We hosted Thanksgiving for my husband’s family at our house last Sunday. We had 18 people, plus our 3 dogs, so it was quite the crowd for our little house. On Thanksgiving, we went to my mom’s to have a meal with my side of the family.

I had Thursday and Friday off from both jobs which was delightful. The library was open for my shift on Saturday but I appreciated the break while it lasted. This will be my final week in the office at my old job. I will be continuing to work for the company on a part-time basis from my home. I am eager to get started at the library full-time.

How was your week?

What I’m Reading

I finished two audiobooks this week. I started the week with You Better Watch Out by James S. Murray and Darren Wearmouth, which was a lot more violent than the cover suggests, but I enjoyed it. I decided it was time to try Lucy Score and jumped right into The Dead Guy Next Door, which was a lot of fun.

I am so close to finishing The Last One by Rachel Howzell Hall and am enjoying it.

Books Added

Tartufo by Kira Jane Buxton (Publisher); Flesh by David Szalay (Publisher); The Last Hour Between Worlds by Melissa Caruso (Publisher)

  1. Time off really is nice especially if you have to prepare a feast for so many. Glad you were able to enjoy the holiday and commence the countdown to your last day! How exciting!

  2. Nice! So excited for you for your new position! That’s awesome! I would’ve loved to work in the library myself but apparently never really qualified for a position as I never even got an interview. From the way you talked about B&N, I’m not sure it would be the right fit for me either. I’m not good at being pushy for sales and whatnot!

Nice new reads! These are new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

  3. Happy belated Thanksgiving. That’s a lot of people. Wow. I had 5 people and 1 dog. lol I cooked at my place. It was nice. No drama in the neighborhood either. lol

  4. You definitely deserve some time off! I’m so excited to hear more about your library job and so excited for you that it is your full time one now and your part time one will be from home. Hopefully that will make for a much less crazy pace. I hope you’re having a wonderful week!
